I tuned in to see I'm on a my tank Installation 72RT2 . . So was that a rubber strap the one screw came from?

Not sure I understand your question? There are 2 rubber straps that sit in front of the air box that are supposed to help hold the tank down. ours are broken. I was unable to source replacements, so now that were putting the bike back together they won't be attached.

Yamaha didn’t make these bikes with three different types of nuts and bolts, depending on what countries they were going to. They were all the same.

Correct. I corrected myself in further videos Thanks and ride safe

She's an RT2 not RT1....RT1's were tank badged bikes not stickers. I'm puzzled about the bolt holding the tank on ? there should just be the rubber strap ?

I also thought it was a RT2 cause it was last registered as an 1972 RT2. However they ran the SN at the Yamaha dealership and they said given the production date, it is actually a 1971 RT1B-360 ( they said the B stands for Enduro). The rubber strap was broken when I took the tank off so I will need to find one at a salvage yard. Thanks for your input.

Definitely an RT2

"American bike , not a metric bike" arent they all metric? they were made in Japan
@highmilagerider1154 Жыл бұрын
The Yamaha dirt bikes of that era were made in Japan in Morimachi, Iwata and Hamakita. They were also however manufactured in India as well. You are correct and I was wrong when I said american made. Maybe the previous owner changes some bolts on the bike while they owned it. Thanks so much. Ride safe.
