Gateway Classic Cars is Proud to present this top of the line 1973 Buick Electra Limited 4 door sedan.
Buick’s full size luxury started its life in 1959 and ran through 1990. This is a wonderfully clean example of the early 1970’s Land Yacht. We rarely find them nicer than this. And this one has spent its entire life in one family and it really shows.
This exterior is rich dark green, the interior is the same and it shows almost no wear, its richly appointed with air conditioning , cruise control, power seats, power windows, tilt wheel, and power locks .
The 455 cu in has plenty power to keep this yacht afloat.
They really don’t make them like this anymore. It truly is “ the ultimate in cruising elegance”

I was 15 years old when I rode it, I used to go with the children of our neighbors in Kuwait to school, really a classy and comfortable car and you feel like you're in another world when you ride it. 👍

OMG that’s what I call a car, it’s big, it’s luxurious, even without a vinyl roof that still the kind of car that would catch your eye sitting in the showroom right in the middle on a turntable looking fabulous, just change out the AM radio for a 4 speaker stereo radio with 8-track and what a cruiser!! The wire wheels are a really nice touch in contrast to the chrome wheels but best of all, it’s a Buick!!! See your dealer today and drive a brand new Buick Electra , you’ll be the envy of your neighborhood!!!

When I entered college in 1979, older people were selling cars like this with low miles for a few hundred bucks. The oil crisis (both of them) made people move to compact cars and these luxury barges were thought to be worthless. There were a few students I knew driving Electra 225s and Coupe DeVilles around campus like mack daddies. They paid for the gas with money saved on buying nearly new cars for cheap.

Yes, for some reason people would rather have a car payment on a new small car, than to simply use that money to pay for gas driving a comfortable car. A $200 car payment (back then) could buy a lot of gas at 55 cents a gallon (back then).

@@MostlyBuicks people also traded cars more back then. A 10 year old car was clapped out and on its last legs then. Now most people I know are still driving cars from the early 2000s or late 90s with proper maintenance

@@kingxcamm Yep. my newest car is 1996. The newest car I ever owned was a 2001 back in 2011. I agree, back in the day when most cars reached 100K miles it was all over, baby blew. But in all cases, maintenance is the key. Most people do not bother with maintenance until something breaks, these days and back then. I do most of the work myself and for example, I change the brakes pads and/or shoes when they are at 50% wear. I flush out the coolant every 30-40K. I do a transmission service also around 40-60K. I change oil between 3 and 5K. (depending on the car). My tires are also replaced at 50% tread and so on. When performance deviates enough from normal for me to notice, I investigate. I like ALL my cars to run and perform like new at all times.

Back then, power windows on the armrest that were horizontal were pure luxury! Vertical power windows were an add-on to otherwise ordinary vehicles. Not positive, but for GM cars back then, only Cadillac’s, Buick Electra’s, Olds 98’s, and all Pontiac’s had that feature.

I have always been a Cadillac person myself, However in 1973 I do not believe there was a car maker on planet Earth that built a better looking car than that Buick, As far as that goes I don't think there is a woman out there that's sexy, I could sit and stare at that car all day

Electras owned between me and my dad: 1961 4 door hardtop, 1966 2 door hardtop, 1969 convertible, 1970 Limited 4 door hardtop, 1970 Limited 2 door hardtop, 1972 limited 4 door hardtop and 1972 Limited 2 door hardtop. But what in the heck is it about green on these early 70s models? There were so many much better colors available.

This Buick was factory special ordered with the Cadillac color deep forest green without a vinyl top. Somewhat rare for a 70`s auto.
