This time on the AutoEdits channel... it's the first track day outing in the 1973 Ford Mustang we call "Large Marge"... and it goes AWESOME!
I slapped a set of NITTO NT05 tires on this thing and the Mustang performed fantastic.
The project took way longer than I had hoped to get to this point and if you get a moment... check the playlist of just about the full build here and see the trials and tribulations:
• Classic Ford Mustang B...
There are so many parts and components working together to make this project such a success on the road and on the racetrack. From the Total Control Products suspension and those gorgeous ET wheels to the BeCool radiator and Flaming River steering components!
If by chance you are considering going to your first track day experience... I'll show you the basics in this video of what to expect and how to navigate that. Pick a good organization like Speed Ventures like I did for this event and they'll make it as easy as possible for any skill level!
www.speedventu...
Thanks so much for coming along on this journey... it's been a long one and who knows what's next!
Here's my Instagram if you feel like following over there:
/ autoedits_jason
And finally, here's the AutoEdits Amazon storefront...www.amazon.com...
Any shopping you might do there or even just start there and search for other products, helps me a little bit and it's greatly appreciated!

I'm a little disappointed that it took KZbin 3yrs to recommend this video. Love your format. No nonsense footage. And the fact you took that model mustang on a track. Props! And honestly you drove it great. Passing newer lighter better technology cars. Great job!!

Jason... I'm so stoked for you.... Your car is the most badass 73 mustang I know!!!. My 67 Camaro is a very similar style build. Couple questions if you have time: How long were the track sessions? Did you have any issue with oil temps? The the car understeer much with the tire stagger F/R? I feel like I will need an oil cooler for my car... Its been autocrossed and after about 10-12 minutes continuous it gets up to about 260 degrees. I can imagine a full track is much more abuse. Been following your build since the beginning and I'm so proud of you! If you weren't on the other coast I'd love to buy you a beer and talk shop! Cheers!

Thanks! I don't have an oil temp gauge so I'm not sure and I think the sessions were 25 minutes. I watched the water temps and they never got over 199 so I wasn't worried at all and pressures were good... even during long sweeping turns. I was surprised by the few other late model cars having to pull off early during sessions because of overheating... my BeCool radiator module has proven to be confidence inspiring. About that beer... I appreciate the thought and you just never know where we might be some time... cheers back at ya!

I was surprised the most by how much corner speed it carries... did you see how it kept pace with those little cars! Now that it is mechanically sorted pretty good, it's time for the restoration stuff. Paint/body/interior should get done.

You & Marge were killin' it! IMHO she's the best looking car at the track. Love the big girls😜 No offense import (not a valid term any more) guys, but give me a V8 American muscle car. Oh ya, don't paint the hood.

Nice Video Jason! This is inspiration for my 79 Mustang build. Are you going to paint the hood? It gives off a Mad Max vibe with the bare steel hood.

@@AutoEdits Ya I've been struggling with my exhaust. Removed the Flowmasters, installed a full new 2 1/2 system with X-Pipe to short 14" Magnaflows then had a set of resonators installed just before the tips. It's pretty good now, still a bit loud but only has one spot of annoying resonance / drone between 2200 and 2700 RPM. I couldn't hear any issues with your system as you were rippin through the track. You have Marge dialed, she sounds good and looks the part when hitting the straight out of the corners. All you need is some paint on that car, maybe a few interior bits and it will be quite the machine. Any plans to finish the car or is it as it's going to be?
