THANK YOU so much for posting this game. My son was born just as Drew Pearson #88 crossed that goal line for the winning touchdown. How do I know ?? The doctor had a TV rigged up in the delivery room, (I think he stole it out of the waiting room). GO DALLAS !!! Love you Richard Gilbert 11.28.74 , The Mom :) PS: Thank you also to Clint Longley #19 When Longley, wearing No. 19, entered the huddle, running back Walt Garrison reportedly said to him, "Remember, Clint, we're the ones in white."Dec 4, 1994

I was 16 yrs old at that time. I watched the first half of that game and the one thing about the Cowboys, they ALWAYS a Thanksgiving day favorite team to watch on TV because you knew the game was going to very competitive. I had to leave just prior to half time because I had a Seattle Times paper route to do, but I did hear about the BIG play and the performance of Rookie QB Clint Longley. That was back in the day when football was FOOTBALL !!

As a 12-year-old boy growing up in Texas our family would watch the Cowboys of course and I will never forget this game because we thought it was over until the big bomb at the end and we all were yelling and rejoicing, what a comeback victory it was!

I like how Duane Thomas scored a couple touchdowns and one of the last passes Bob Hayes ever caught was a 7-yarder on 4th down to set up the 50 yard bomb to Pearson.

Blaine Nye, long time Cowboy OG and a Stanford grad, said that Longley's success could be attributed to "the triumph of the uncluttered mind." Looks like that long and bright future did not work out for ol' Clint.... I had forgotten that this was Duane Thomas' return to Dallas. Great player, strange dude. That is Joe Theismann knocking Barnes out of bounds 4:27.

Big time. Drew Pearson is one of the most clutch wide outs in the history of the game. I remember watching that tough playoff game In Minnesota beck in 1975. When Drew caught that Hail Mary pass, he heaved the ball high into the crowd as if to say “take that” to all the hecklers.

I know you've long forgotten posting this, but I was right there with you, brother. I was 11 and watched this on our old B&W TV. I couldn't believe it. I doubt that it kept me from eating turkey that day, but it certainly dampened the mood. I was a Redskins fan since 1971 (shocked when they came out with that "new" helmet for the '72 season), but I've pretty much given up on the modern game of showboating and protests, and though I am a Virginian, I feel no connection with the Commanders; thus, I "was" a Redskins fan. Long gone are the days of RFK stadium and its being perpetually sold out. Hail to the Redskins, hail victory.... Hope life has been good to you.

Daryl Lamonica was the original “Mad Bomber” for the mighty Oakland Raiders but for one incredible game, Clint Longley earned that nickname as well. What a shame that the Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys never met in the Super Bowl. In 1977, if the officials had not screwed up in their no-call of a fumble by Denver’s Rob Lytle, the two great teams might have met in Super Bowl XII in new Orleans’ Superdome.
