It is a fun thing to play around on, and would make quite a sensible city commuter machine. I once rode it to the gas station wearing all of my sportbike riding gear to evoke laughs from passers by. - Darren

I have a 1970 5000. Btw, you might have gotten better mileage if you had inflated the rear tyre more. Nice vid.

Mine was also a 74 5000. I decked the head trimmed the piston skirt at intake and did some carb mods. It did 30-35 mph.

Friend and I used to drive it around college as one would sit on the metal over the back wheel.It still drove great with 2 teen agers cruising the night streets..We were only 14-15 years old long live the 1980's 🤘😎🤘

i got one that i restored, it is fun, don't expect fast speed, i do between 25 to 30 km/h

The front tire is not the original one. The 5000 was one of the last produced in France (fabrication was exported to Poland or somewhere in this area). The most common and reliable soles is the 3800. I used to race on solex in the end of 90s and I still have my student’s solex which is running very well! Love it! But please, do not that’s a mopet !
