I used to have 78 Celica. Awesome car it was. I should have never sold it.

70's Celicas are one of my favorite 70s cars. My older cousin had one and an old coworker had one. I think a high school friend also had one, his was in rougher shape but it ran. I like the interior and exterior design that went into these cars.
@Mechanic_kid Жыл бұрын
Ya, I agree! Definitely the coolest car from the 70s. Stay tuned for more Celica content. Thanks for the comment Jeff👍🏼

This was my first car at age 16. In 1986 I bought one for $100. They hold a special place in my heart and I'd buy one right now sight unseen at a reasonable price.

I had a '71 Celica and the place to add gasoiine was behind the rear license plate holder. on the '72 abd beyond the gas oirt was in the drivers side support. When kept up and in good condition it is a great car, I rallyed with mine for several years, Did gymcannas and other recey type events and always placed high. Unfortunatly it was trashed and moved on to someone that wanted it even with a front end that tried to eat a telephone pole. I miss that car.

Someone done a crappy paint job over what was a beautiful root beer color! Surprisingly in great shape for it's age, floor pans and rockers look great! Can't wait to see this one restored!
@Mechanic_kid2 жыл бұрын
Hey Dwayne, ya at some point someone did a cheap paint job on it which sucks! I believe the original color was white but i could be wrong as I did see that root beer color in places also. Most of these rusted out completely, this one is still very solid. Thanks for the support and stay tuned👍🏼
@mirtir472 Жыл бұрын
i might be wrong but a lot of these 70's celica have that color under the paint, so i think it's their primer color

one of very few pnw celicas that isn't completely rotten. nice find. i have an 81celica... the paint in the trunk area is now a structural component :p

I had one back in the early 90's it was a 73 ,it had about 3 different colour in the body panels,I would replace the rusted panels when and if I could find good ones cause brand new I remember just for a boot lid was just over 500 dollars AU......

A sixteen year old car today is hardly used. Back in 1990, this 74 Celica was already a dinosaur.

Dash can be fixed with plastic welding and coating or cover.
@Mechanic_kid2 жыл бұрын
I’ve seen that before! Might have to give it a try👌🏼
@Bawkr2 жыл бұрын
@@Mechanic_kid I can't remember their names but they have a website, video on KZbin of their Celica. Coating would be flocked instead of cover. Will definitely be doing to mine, mine looks like yours only my car wasn't that nasty when I got it and rust in different spots. Trunk completely wasted, will be quite a project but I most likely will restore rather than replace it.
