I bought a 1973 Grand Prix in college in 1986. $200, it was a 455 with turbo-hydromatic 3 speed automatic. Drove it for years, great comfortable car. Gas milage sucked but it was worth it. 7 mpg in city.

$200 was cheap back then for this car. I remember the era. For $200 bucks mostly an old Nova or say comet at best so you got a sweet deal. And yeah they sucked the gas like their was no tomorrow 😅 I loved the tilt console our 75 had.

I was one who took my Dad’s 73 GP when he was asleep. Push it out of driveway didn’t want to start it till far enough away. He caught me but he was cool

I remember when Cherokee Auto Group had it for sale, and then it went to auction for around $7,500. I hope she finally found a good home.

I own a 77 grand prix sj with a 400 in it had the car restored 3yrs ago

Yeah my father bought one brand new in 75' triple burgundy with the power moon roof but I wouldn't call the 180 HP 400 a muscle car 😂 yeah this doesn't sound stock for sure. But it felt "Kool" driving it to school in 78' when I had the chance with the awesome tilt console it had. We owned the car for 25 years and he still got good money for it. If I remember correctly you could get a 455 also but I think it only made 200hp in the trans am the 400 had an extra 5 HP over our stock 400 probably due to the exhaust system being duals on the trans am but not much faster. Beautiful car here brings back memories 😅

That was in the last few years when cars were built to last and looked nice and had some kind of quality to them because after 1977 the Grand Prix were pretty much junk
