1977 Datsun 620 King Cab: Home Build!

In this episode we have Fred and his mint 1977 Datsun 620 King Cab mini truck. It only took three pictures for Fred to buy this Datsun truck from Oregon. Over the years Fred has put in a bit of work in this build. Aside from the paint, everything else has been done from his own garage and with his own hands. He does not have the OG engine because he put in a KA motor from a Nissan 240. Thank you Fred for the awesome attitude and for taking time away from your day. He also has major things coming fro m the truck. I know it will be amazing and we are honored to have been able to feature his story on Automotive Anatomy. Enjoy!

That's a badass truck! Brought back some memories.Back in 1990 I had 2 Datsun 620 trucks. I bought them for real cheap like $200or$300 each.One was a king cab the other was standard cab. Mini truck scene was huge back then. Some bodywork,paint and lowered with some wide rims and stretched tires, I thought the trucks looked awesome.But back then people really didn't like my 620s, they were more into the mid 80s and 90s trucks.I didn't give a damn, I cruised the tires off them bitches. I miss those trucks.

The king cab make all the diference when upgrading seats,, I installed the seats from a 08 eclipse and they can lean way back 👌👌

My first vehicle was a 77 standard cab. My dad sold it for 10 bucks when I joined the Navy in 99. Been looking for one for some time. Wish I could find my original with what I know now.

He didn't need to do the KA swap. The L20 motor is solid as is and sounds better than a KA. I remember a friend of mine had one and it sounded like a Jeep.

UnitedPebbles 620 King Cabs ‘76-‘79 come from the factory with bucket seats. If you see one with a bench seat, the owner swapped it in.
