1977 Evinrude 55 hp after tuneup

this model Evinrude does not have a peehole. It has an audible alarm inside the speed control where the pilot sits, whose sensor is inside the engine head. If it were getting no cooling water this alarm would be screaming.

yup - you should get some out of the holes on the top of the tower - sounds like time for a new impeller

Hi - This model doesnt have a pee hole. You should be getting a little water out through the two long holes at the top back of the tower & the majority of water out of the prop - Hope this helps ..

i got a 76 i like it,but lately i cant get it to idle,i just have to fire up and go which has got to be hell on the lower end,it had got to were it didnt want to run half power so we took the carbs apart and cleaned em so now it goes but wont idle so I dont know what the deal is.but I do believe the 55's are better than the 50's.

Wonder what the optimum head temp is while engine is running? Is 157° too high ?

hey i just got a 1978 evinrude 140hp and the wiring has been butchered, i no the basics behind it , but still having problems. so im looking for help like a wiring diagram, or the starting circuit or anything else that i can find .So if anyone can help, id be very grateful cheers
