That's a man's bike right there,no frills,no unnecessary electronics,just get up and go, about 2 years ago i was helping a buddy clear out his Moms house after she passed and there was one of these in a shed,been outside and inside for the last 30 years,i asked my buddy if i could have it and he gifted it to me,i tore it down completely and im in the process of restoring it,the only thing that was not destroyed by water was the tranny, crank and the rods, everything else is fucked,water even got inside the blinkers,ha ha ha. Slowly but surely I'm making progress,i have a good size box full of bad parts that I'm keeping to match up what ill get,sad thing is the bike had 20k when parked,basically still relatively new, good news is a i work in a shop so i have access to every tool and machine out there, thats helps a lot, its actually identical to yours, same year too.

how is this bike handling and moving around? I'm thinking of getting one but it seems heavy and really wide. Is it manageable?
@raupenimmersatt69062 жыл бұрын
It weights about 210-220kg, so Yeah a bit heavy. But Overall the ride is really, really smooth. You can cruise at 1500rpm and the engine wont stutter because of the carbs. If you find a good example go for it- the CB 400 Four SuperSport weights 190kg and is equally smooth. The old 4cyl Honda engines with carbs were really something else

@@raupenimmersatt6906 were they reliable? Thinking of picking one up in good condition

@@Spartansrule118 The carbs not to be adjusted properly as well as the contact ignition (contaceless can be fitted). Overall they are reliable if serviced properly. Sometimes the electric cables can break (they are over 40 years old). Most spare parts are relatively cheap. Keep an eye out for rust at the exhaust (New one will cost 1-1500 bucks) and if the valves/ carbs were reguarly maintained. Aftet 25k km the cylinders need to be torqued again. If thats too much hussle (I Sold mine because of it) maybe look at an Interceptor 650.

@@raupenimmersatt6906 wow cylinders torqued every 25K km? Sorry, I’m new to motorcycles. Does the engine need to come off the frame for that? Sounds like a big hassle for every 25k KM. Are all older bikes like this or is it specifically the design for this bike? Was thinking of getting this as a first bike, but I think my effort should be put into learning to ride rather than wrenching, for now anyways. Maybe I’ll look into more modern motorcycles? Another on my list was a Suzuki GS500 (1989-2002)
