Hey man, could you tell me or show how you got the throttle cable out/off cause I’m trying to wrap my brain around it and I just cannot see how I’m supposed to! Haha

I can't offer any advice on this, but I can offer empathy. I had a hell of a time getting my throttle cable off. I would be interested in any advice on this too.

Screw both of them all the way down, disconnect the short cable first. Then moving your throttle grip remove the longer cable second. Then unscrew both of them from the carb. They both have to be screwed in when installing or removing.

At about 7:16 you mention something you didn't know: something tube or "needle set"? It's what the needle goes in to. How does that come out? Can I just press it out or tap it out? I just got a 76 KZ400 from a friend that's been sitting for at least ten years. (The whole thing is gummed up. Even the petcock was completely clogged.)

I think it just presses out but do you really need to take it out?🤔 it acts as a sleeve so I wouldn’t want to damage the inside. Just my thoughts👍 brake clean, or I was going to buy that 1 gallon can you soak the whole carb body in. Ultrasonic cleaner be nice too. Good luck with the project fun little bikes!

@@MikeTheFixer Thanks. I'm not sure how this carb got as dirty as it did. I can't imagine it running and then getting this dirty afterwards, and I can't imagine it running anywhere near the condition it's in. I bought a carb kit and there's a replacement so I figured I would go all new. One side I still can't see through, even after lots of cleaner and air. Soaking the whole thing is a good idea!

Also, aren't there tiny holes in the sides. I'm not sure if I would be able to get those clean.

@@67diamond ah yes. I think I did a video on soaking mine in pinesol. Works pretty good but worth picking up one of those carb buckets that stuff will get all the little pinholes and jets need to be clean. 👍
