I’m watching this series on and off today when I get a break. I just bought a 1983 Kz750. Im reasonably sure the carbs are the same model. This tutorial/demonstration is a major carb overhaul. I wonder if I’ll find a tutorial of a minor cleaning? If not, a video like that would be nice. I really appreciate your very methodical and thorough instructions!!

If anyone is wondering how to clean out the little holes in the needle jet holder, I used a guitar string. It's stiff enough to root out the junk built up in the holes and flexible enough to maneuver it where it needs to go to get the job done. Afterward, I plugged the tip with my finger and shot some carb cleaner into the jet and POW! It sprayed out of those little holes just like downtown.

may i add... when trying to loosen a philips screw use a ratchet with a philips socket....this will give you a lot of much needed leverage on the first and maybe only atemp at "breaking" them loose before they get stripped....i have to do mine as well excellent vid

Those "Philips head " screws are probably JIS head screws. If they have a dimple on the head near the slot , they ARE JIS and a Philips screwdriver does not properly fit! Use the proper size JIS screwdriver; you'll feel the difference. (A set of JIS screwdrivers isn't terribly expensive.)

Hi, thanks a lot for these detailed videos. I have exactly those carbs on my Kz700. I want to order the best repair kit, and jets for them. I know that some kits out there have issues of not bringing the right parts. Any recommendation? Thanks

hello does the Spectre model share the same carbs as the LTD? I have a KZ750N1 Spectre
@MrAquabug6 жыл бұрын
Hi Ivwrx, as far as my research took me on internet, Yes they are the same Keihin Carbs. I think the only difference is the fact that the Spectre had plastic carb covers instead of metal.
