My parents in '76 purchased the Mercury version of that wagon. I guess it was probably a '77 model year car. It was f*cking amazing! It was pretty much a Lincoln Continental station wagon. Leather seats, every option imaginable and power for days.

My dad was a skilled tradesman at Ford and A-planned this same car, but brown with the metal wood, 460 v8 with air shocks, my older brother drove it thru a Lawsons in high school

Our Dad 👴🏿 had the exact same color Beach 🏝️🏖️wagon Station 🚉 Wagon but it was a 1975 Mercury Grand Marquis Colonial Park Brougham LS Park Lane Beach 🏝️🏖️Wagon Station 🚉 Wagon With every option you can and could think of it was Fully Equipped, Fully Loaded and Fully Powered with Factory Installed Roof Rack with Rear Window Wind Deflector for the Electric Power Tailgate Glass with Buffed Chrome Custom Deluxe Factory Highly Polished Stainless Aluminum Steel Wheel Covers and For The Tires 1quarter inch White Wall with a Custom Two Inch Inner White Walls All Season Tires with Matching Spare Tire as well. At that time it was the best looking Ride with in the neighborhood on the street our family had lived on. I still remember it like it was Yesterday. Man oh man what a great Ride it gave us. A nice Country Squire, but no luggage rack. I think 1978 was the last year for the big Ford, big changes for 1979.

1979 was the start of the Panther, which didn't really seem to be a decent car to me until the 1992's came around. I've only ridden in the late-model Panthers so I can't speak from experience on that.

Two options are missing that i would’ve had installed The Factory Roof Rack and Rear Wind Window Deflector for The Electric Tailgate Glass.

Cut the cats off, put dual exhaust on it. A bigger carb. Remove the smog control devices. Improve hp about 50 more hp. And Improve gas mileage about 5 to 8 mpg.

No LTD emblem on tailgate no rear bumper guards or rub strip no roof rack no bumper rub strip on front bumper No cornering lamps no body side moldings what else is this car lacking on the inside ??? Stereo lamp group convienience group cruise tilt wheel power seats I see it does have the brougham seats up front and you said it had D.F.R.S . See I know these country squires growing up we had a bunch of them so did a friend of mine I know all the options but I do know that in those days you could order what you did or did not want this is when option groups did not really exist yet like they do today back in those days the the dealer ship and salesmen had more opertunity to make a better commission on up selling you on individual appointments nowadays it’s already on the vehicle of choice with few upgrades to choose from when the car companies started this in the 80s the salesmen did not really like it because it took away a sales tactic that put extra money in their pocket

It sure would look good with a bumper filler delete bumper tuck. Some mirror tint on the glass, a wood grain steering wheel, some hella h4h1 I can see at night headlights behind those doors, pair of Switchback bulbs in those front turn indicators white and parking mode blink yellow.a getting out of those twin catalytic converters, A few simple things and then she'd really look very nice.
