Sweet 78. Fun fact; The 78 custom and base model came with round headlights. The Ranger, Lariat, XLT ect. All came with square. My Ranger has square. My parents bought a brand new 79 XLT Ranger 4x4 almost identical to that when I was 6 years old. It had all the chrome trim and a dealer installed roll bar in the bed. Solid black, no stripping but with those exact same white rims. Even had the tie down tees on the side of the bed like this one

Awesome! Thanks for your comment. Do they still have the truck?

@@NickPixelTV Pssf. No. I wish. They’re not married anymore. My mother is very nearly done with the Restoration on my Step Dads 69 Ranger though. It’s also gorgeous

Nick back in the day, I ordered the floor mat from Ford. Took out the front seat, cleaned up all the floor and cab then installed the new rubber floor. Only mistake I made was I cut the shift lever holes too big. Then I had another little black mat to cover the shifter holes that was cut more accurately to size.

Would love to hear some stories I have a 1979 Ford F150 with a 400 four-wheel-drive 8 foot bed everything is original it’s the brown color original motor only thing I’ve done is put different wheels and tires and a brand new front end on it underneath my mom gave it to me she moved to Phoenix I live in Idaho so that truck in Arizona would not be too great so she gave it to me because I’m the only one I can work on it and she said it’s about 30 years so now it’s mine for the last three years I love your video God bless

nice truck my first ride was a Dodge charger 1967 I bought from my uncle when I was 13 towed it home and fixed it drove it when I was 16 to high school and work then I got the hot rod bug pulled engine and transmission sent them to the man who built engines for Terry Bradshaw super stock racer and spent 5k it would pull the front wheels off the ground won a few street races then I got my dads 68 chevy step-side truck with a small-block three on the tree built the engine when I was in vo-tech school

Enjoy it and if you drive it in winter. Give it a good wash down. Another trick even if under coated. WD 40 on a rag and wipe lower doors. Some old timers even dump used motor oil in lower doors. Help try keep stuff from rusting out.

I traded a 78 f250 4x4 for a 87 Suzuki samurai. I love the samurai but I do miss my old truck

In 1978, Im pretty sure the base model trucks had the round headlights, I believe at a certain trim level you could get a Square headlight 78...

I also have a 78 F150 Custom short bed. It is my all time favorite vehicle ever. I'd love to see what you do to yours as I am working on mine slowly over years but it runs like a champ and is in great condition.

I had one that was full time 4wd with a locking transfer case

1978 was the last year for the round shaped headlamps & first year for the square shaped headlamps which came standard on models with the Ranger trim level & optional on models with the Custom trim level.

I have my 78' Ford F-150 that I'm restoring. Any information on where to get good quality parts, such as interior parts. I'm changing from Red to Black, rugs, door panels, dash pad, headliner and seat. Love your channel !
