There are lots of videos on our channel with this truck in it. Scroll thru. I think it's been to every one of our Front Yard Nationals as well. Its a great ride that he can drive pretty much anywhere.

It really turned out great! It was worth all the prep work you put into it. Look forward to seeing the truck assembled. Keep the videos coming.

We are sanding and polishing it now. The owner has most of the trim and interior ready to go back together. He is just waiting on me to finish polishing.

Great looking truck! Your video gets me all hyped up to start bodywork on my 1979 F350 Crewcab, then eventually get it painted red and white (with racetrack trim). When spring gets here I will start ripping the truck apart!

Really a nice job painting and explaining the video. I can’t wait to see the finished product. I’ve got a 1974 Highboy I’m wanting to go with that color. Could you send me the paint code? Thanks again.
@HyndzyteEngineering2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, it was a lot of work but it was worth it. The truck came out fantastic. Paint code is Chrysler PSC…..I will warn you that color is not cheap and does not cover very well. It has a ton of Pearl in it. It looks like a regular silver/charcoal color until it gets in the sun. Good luck on your project and thanks for watching.

When you blocked the primer what grits of sand paper did you use?
@HyndzyteEngineering5 ай бұрын
If you are planning on repriming then block with 150-180 and then go over your edges with 220-240. If it is your final prime then block with 240, then I reguide coat and sand with no less than 400 grit.

How much does it cost to get a piant job like this got a 79 ford
@HyndzyteEngineering2 жыл бұрын
Angel it depends on the amount of work that needs to be done to get it ready. Can't throw u a number without see what it looks like. I can tell you shop rates for a regular body shop in the Midwest are are usually around $50-$60 and hour and it's not unusual to hit 100‐200 hours on an old truck.

I got one in the left bedside at the body line. More than likely because I ran out of clear half way down the bedside so I ended up recoating in that area

How much something like this cost?
@HyndzyteEngineering Жыл бұрын
Depending on the amount of body work, it could cost anywhere from 15k to 25k. That's not counting paint materials. Costs on different colors can vary greatly....
@Alfactors Жыл бұрын
I have 1978 cost to paint ?
@HyndzyteEngineering Жыл бұрын
Material alone was in the $4000 range. Labor all depends on how rough the body is when you start
@georgecass85292 жыл бұрын
Why didn't you just it apart to paint ? You got it half way done anyways .
@HyndzyteEngineering2 жыл бұрын
There were two reasons, one was limited room in the booth to have it all apart and not have to do 2 loads in the booth. The other reason was the color didn’t cover very well and I was worried about having enough paint and possibly having a color match issue. It turned out well, and I only had to respray the tops of the fenders to get rid of a tape line.
