Check out this classic Honda dual sport! I have had this for nearly 20 years and enjoy taking it out every few weeks to run some gas through it and relive my youth.

I had the same bike in 1985..Great video. Got mine out of a junk pile..Put fresh gas in ran with it and dumped the clutch in 2nd and it fired right up. Later replaced the broken kick start and drove it for a few years..great bikes! Hang onto that:}

awesome video I got a 77 in my yard ex RCMP bike lol I want to rebuild it for a gravel road cruiser out camping or an emergency vehicle if I break down 200km from the nearest house on the logging roads (which sucks I've been stranded for a week before with nothing but a knife and the clothes on my back in -15C there was a cabin nearby I walked to with a couple cans of soup but another means of transport would have brought me home that night)

Nice video! I'm restoring a 1973 XL175 and was wondering how fast yours went and what gear ratio you are using? Thanks!
@aaronbehindbars8 жыл бұрын
Tanner, the bike topped out at 62 mph, was geared pretty short. I no longer have it, so I am not sure of the gearing. It was likely stock ratios. Earlier bikes like your 73 should have a little more power and capable of higher speeds. The last couple years of the XL175 were kinda doggy. The XL185 was supposed to run a lot better, too.

My 1974 Honda XL125 with a 144cc big bore on it tops out at 77, and if there is a tail wind 90. This is with a 42t rear sprocke.

no way even in a blizzard it wont do 90mph. not even close.

Have u ever broke the kik start off? They were bad for that.

it's that or a Honda foreman 400 but the bikes lighter and leaves room in the box for gear

May I ask Sir, How much is your insurance rates for it? Here in Canada insurance killed my riding days..Last bike was a 1982 Yamaha 650 Maxim..Can't see one of these being to dear to operate..Likely why I want another endure like this..

I had it insured through a collector vehicle insurer for $100 per year with total loss coverage.

Sweet little ole bike but im shocked its top speed is 62 ? my 1973 Suzuki TS185 would sream upto 80 mph , but i would cruise at about 55-60mph :) good old times

Maybe it was 67, not 62. I sold this bike back in 2016, so my memory is even foggier. Even when I shot the video, it had been a few years since I had done any top speed runs. I do know the little thing was absolutely screaming, so maybe that top speed was limited by gearing. Good times, indeed. I wish I had not sold it.
