Pretty good body integrity for a design dating back to 1962!

Son camionetas para la eternidad y excelentes que hoy pocos tenemos el privilegio de tener una haber si 40 años después hay en pie alguna de hoy

I'm really surprised that the interior was so safe, considering how badly the frame bent---it was practically touching the ground, and I would've thought that the floor pan would've buckled too.

They did run it into a solid concrete wall lol

This is a Minor crash, not the much more severe partial overlap crash. Just about any vehicle passes this test quite easily. But agree with your comments.

Pretty good for a vehicle that was designed with no regard to occupant safety. Should be survivable.

It appears the frame buckled right where the boxing of the fron end ended. Don't let this discourage you from owning and driving one though. In a collision with anything smaller than it, it will win.

probably better that it collapsed like this, it helped absorb the impact.. If its 100% solid itll be one hell of an impact. But i agree, in a low speed crash id rather be in my Grand Wagoneer than that prius i just hit

You must not live in the world I live in. Most vehicles are SUVs that weigh about same, or Pick up trucks that weigh a good bit more.

One thing of note, to make it relatively safe add new belts. See how you would eat the steering wheel before it locks? I don't want flail chest over a 67yo smashing the brakes, assuming you don't either.

Nice gradual deceleration of the vehicle. Seems to crumble at a reasonable impact absorbing rate.

Not too bad but they could've used some air bags back then.
@robinfairservice95644 жыл бұрын
A. They didn’t have airbags back then B. Jeeps weren’t little girly cars so they didn’t care if it was safe or not as long that it was a good car who cared C. Jeep’s didn’t have airbags until 1997 when the were mandated my the government
@jeepsblackpowderandlights43054 жыл бұрын
@@robinfairservice9564 Actually, C is Wrong. The First SUV ever to have a drivers Airbag were Jeeps in 1992 for the 1993 Model ZJ Grand Cherokee. The ZJ in 1996 was also the first ever SUV to have passenger and drivers airbags. The Grand Wagoneers were made until 1991, and airbags did exist they just didnt put them in these old Beasts because there was no point and no mandate until 97 as you pointed out

@@robinfairservice9564 jeeps had airbags in 1992. like said above the first suv ever with an airbag. also youd be suprised how ridgid these jeeps where until 2004 from then on the wrangler is the last truck like jeep.
