Drive Home from work. - EFI Slant Six Running Megasquirt II Since 2008 Daily Driver from 1996-2017 Stock Cam, and Bottom End.
Fun But Not fast.
Cold Start from 9 Hours Sitting in the parking lot during a work day.
Semi Fun Drive home on some twisty, winding semi-mountain roads.

I absolutely love this build. I watched your walkaround video and you've done an incredible job with both the work and the maintenance between the 16 year old video and the newest one. Killed it

@@hyperpack I have a 73 Valiant four-door that was my grandpas that I've been daily driving for six or seven years now. It's a factory b3 blue slant six car, basically bone stock and in tact. I've had quite a few newer cars but nothing holds up quite the same. Are you going to Carlisle this year?

Thanks, It is usually dependable, as with anything else that is 44 years old it can get finnicky at times. With proper maintenance, thoughtful selection of parts and the usual old car owner's good mojo, I think I can get maybe another 239,000 Miles out of it.👍😃

Yes, of course, I will try to do that in the future, thanks for the Idea I like to wrench on cars more than edit videos so If I can just slam a cam on the window and drive it makes for easy documentation.

Hi buddy, Yes that is correct. This is a fun car, but I plan to do some upgrades and an engine rebuild sometime. Long term plans include a 5 speed and maybe a turbo as well.

I want to put Port EFI using a megasquirt on my slant, but I dont know where to start. Do you have any resources or tips i can use?

I would start with a realistic assessment of your engineering and troubleshooting abilities. I am not an engineer by training or trade, however I can figure things out. I have the patience, fortitude and stickwithitness to solve problems of a system, in both digital and analog formats. You need to wrap your head around the fact that you will be replacing 2/3 (fuel and spark) of the engine running parameters with this new digital controller - It is not bolt on, and there are lots of numbers etc. to futz with to get it working. There is also a lot of wiring and sensors to configure. You must take an engineering approach to be successful here. I put this on the car in 2008. It still works, I drove it to work today. There are still things I would like to tune better. Every install in unique, every engine combination is different as well. Start with research, and if you are not sure, have bespoke some hot rod shop that is familiar with such things get it working. Set aside time and energy to devote to the project. About 26 MPG on the higway according to my last calculation staying at a reasonable ~70-75 MPH.
