Fantastic work, great wrenching and technical skills these cars scare lots of folks. You inspire confidence to all those who own them; brought mine to several different shops - most said no thanks including porsche dealership at $350 an hour, others said sure piece of cake and did things poorly or just wrong before started doing things myself. It's been over a year, the driver of this car uses it as his daily. The instructions in this video, I am happy to say, worked well! The owner did have a shop check timing belt tension after a year to make sure it was still in spec after running for a while.

Thank you sir you are the one that has given me the extra confidence , so hopefully I will do this job on my 928 s4 1991 Porsha , I used to work on cars in my young days so I will get some new glasses for my eyes and dust of my tools 🛠 for the job 👍🇬🇧😁

Great video... I am a visual guy and it's THIS kind of thing that gives me reasonable amounts of confidence in doing these LARGER multistep jobs. On thing I will say is that in cleaning mating surfaces (ie water pump face) it's best to hold a razor (if needed at all) perpendicular to the surface. Angled pushing will mahr a surface pretty easily. Ok, imma keep watching

Great note there! You may want to try a strong plastic scraper too. I prefer just very careful use of the razor blade.

Thanks for the comment! Definitely a satisfying job because it is a challenge and takes some careful reading of the manufacturers manual. When this Porsche fired up it was a real thrill!

Super Marino! It took me several weeks to take it apart, order the parts, re-order missing parts, and get it back together. I borrowed the flywheel lock tool. I've heard that if you have a stick shift you can use the clutch to "lock" the flywheel well enough.

The 911 is the poor man's 928. Sorry - I gotta call balls and strikes. the 928 was European "Car" of the Year 1979. No other sports car including the 911 has ever won "Car" of the year. The 928 has won 2 production car land speed record at Bonneville (1986 and 2020) - the 911 has exactly won none. Even 911 enthusiast Magnus Walker has started his 928 collection - its Now or Never for the 928 still the biggest Bang for the Buck in classic Porsches. Singer/RWB/RUF could easily reimagine 928s - its just a matter of time before someone specializes in customizing and outlawing 928s - There is no substitute. The 911 Killer's time has come!
