Is that an old Chicago Pneumatic 1/2" impact? I had one of those I got used 35 years or so ago, it was wore out too, I got new a red painted CP gun about 25 years ago and wore THAT one out! Then I got a new Ingersol Rand and I'll never buy anything else again! It was almost like going from a 1/2" impact to a 3/4"! It's a monster. If you ever see an IR gun at a yardsale or on Craigslist cheap, buy it, you'll be very happy, probably would not have had to torch that lug nut at all, almost certain of it.
@vw64manyrd9 жыл бұрын
+MISTERComaToes yes it is a Chicago I bought in about 1982 or so. I will be looking for a new one even though it did have the oomph to break my 30mm socket. Those are locking nuts on the axle and really didn't need to be as tight as they were. This truck had most work done on it by students and I have found some bolts too tight as well as some too loose. I will be looking for an ingersol unless I can score a used snap-on I know of in some sort of trade. Thanks for watching!
@queenofyeay9 жыл бұрын
Well if you score that Snap-on it's more than likely it'll be an Ingersol, some years ago Ingersol started making Snap-on's air tools

@TheShadeTreeFixitMan9 жыл бұрын
+vw64manyrd The urge will go away if you choose for it to. I quit more than 30 years ago, and when I did the urge went with it, though I have had help in that area, I committed my whole life to Christ and he took away the desire for it and some other things that needed changing in my life. I am forever grateful. Blessings my friend.

quitting an addiction and getting fustrated working on cars is a bad mix for sure,and how many times did ya go back to where the socket should be, even though you knew it wasent there,,

+Mustie1 I dumped that drawer 3 times! I knew I had moved it and had a picture in my mind of where it was. I looked there several times as well and finally saw it. It had rolled under another tool. At least I finally found it as it also had a bit of sentimental value. Thanks for watching!

have you pulled one of these motors before?? good luck with putting the smokes away..put one of the pop corn machines in the shop maybe that will help car dirt makes a great topping for popcorn. enjoyed the video

You never mentioned undoing the exhaust, hope you remember :) Good that you have quit the cigarettes, although did I spot an ashtray on the windscreen panel at 4.07? :)
@vw64manyrd9 жыл бұрын
+Jon Laws Attention to detail... I did remember the exhaust. The video was getting windy so the reference had not made the edited cut. I think the object (blue?) you mentioned is actually a roll of blue tape as I did label the oil sending unit wire to distinguish it from the temp sending wires. Thanks for watching!

Or do what I’ve had. Install a Land Rover 300tdi injection pump. I installed that on an ahu Tdi. This is The one you want for the mk1 swap. You can bolt on original flanges and sensors (and use original hoses) On my 1981 rabbit pickup. The only thing is I swapped in an 02a transmission out of a corrado. Because the clutch on the 020 is tiny. Haven’t taken either one back out in 9 years. Fingers crossed.
@fastinradfordable4 жыл бұрын
Ahu Tdi because then all your original mounts are a direct swap. But definitely run the alh variable turbo. Makes you realize the old 1.6 turbos are a JOKE. 25 psi on a k24 or t3 Is equivalent to a vnt15 @ 10psi
