Video begins with KCOP station ID followed by their news promotion, then intro for their programmed movie (yes, back then many stations played late night movies). There is a non-KCOP station clip, on this VHS tape had a portion where I was surfing channels and happen to catch the end of this wowie performance (I love the way she wiggles) from another station. I had the clip so I put it here which along with these commercials to illustrate fashion and culture of the 1980s.
Various TV commercials featuring furniture and appliances, makeup, Kodak film, Control Data Institute computer tech school, Millers Outpost fashions, Gemco hair shampoo (features the hair styles of the day), big boom boxes, Dexatrim, Cheer detergent, ambulance chasing lawyers (if you are in serious accident you should first seek legal advice instead of calling 911), Devry computer tech school, Morris the cat, Charmin bath tissue (they mean toilet paper), kitchen cabinets, People magazine, Cal Worthington and his dog Spot, getting started in broadcasting, Bryman nursing school.
This was back in the days when **all** video was 480i NTSC and the monitors were big and scary.

"Cinema Thirteen" was a weekday mid-morning movie block that aired at 10am. You're might be thinking of "L.A. Theatre", which was a late-night movie block on KCOP. Either way, it's great to see the intro of "Cinema Thirteen", which was cut off at the end to another station. And great commercials that aired on KCOP that dates back in 1985, the year I was born! This recording might take place in late summer or early fall.

mid-morning movie block? ok, I can't remember details of when, maybe this was footage I recorded with a VHS machine (a rental) using the timer, and after painstakingly getting the time set. Back then most people never could figure out how to set the time so most VHS decks always had "12:00" blinking. You born in 1985, damn I guess that makes me old (don't worry you'll get there). There are some commercials that are timeless classics appreciated by all ages. I see on the side others have posted 1980s commercials (another time pit for me today).

2:21 - Control Data Institute - The balding man, who "hopes it's not too late" is Sean McCann, a very prolific Canadian actor, who was on "Shining Time Station".

I was born in 82...so I distinctively remember both the Phil&Jim's and Cal Worthington commercials....funny thing is, Phil & Jim's was "Potato Chips! Potato Chips! Potato Chips! lol lol and Cal's was "....Pussy cow, Pussy Cow, Pussy Cow!" 😂😂😂😂 Not bad for a five year old😏

Children imagine all kinds of stuff. Back when I was a young boy in 1960s, my friends and I debated is the Beatles or the Monkees a better band.

I'm sure the copyright has expired so you should be free to capitalized on that song, maybe do a hip-hop version.

k6mfw, genius! U just gave me an idea! 💡 There used 2 B a bank in California called Home Federal, shortened 2 Home Fed Bank, and I've always had a fascination 4 their logo, and I finally copied it from an ad on eBay, and I'm tryin now 2 make it MY logo, like how the Stones' logo has the tongue stickin owt.

0:21 scared the guts out of me when I was a kid, and I incessantly had nightmares inspired by it, let alone a hallucination of it, which oddly enuff went away in a split second. Coincidentally I had turned 6 when KCOP abolished it, as I say it was the most frightenin thing on TV!
