Thanks for posting this.... I remember (prior to cable TV) that NBC carried the games on Saturday & ABC carried the Monday Night games & they alternated each year between the All -Star game & the World Series . I was lucky to live in an area that had 3 different NBC stations & sometimes I would be able to watch 3 separate games on at the same time

Garagiola and Kubek were so smooth in their announcing. Nothing bombastic or extremely over the top. Once he joined forces with Scully in 83 that was the end of Garagiola doing anymore calling of the games. He became too second fiddle to Scully I thought.
