I was at this game, sitting in the upper deck in the end zone where the would-be game winning TD pass was completed.

A long way from that 9-1 start 4 or 5 years earlier. But, forever a Baltimore Colts fan.

When I was a kid I was so excited about Curtis Dickie and Randy McMillan. Haven’t followed football as closely as I’ve done back then but they were told it is the greatest to back towns in the league.

Boy, those '81 Colts were really bad. Won their first and last games, both against New England. Lost 14 straight in between. I was born in 1968, so it's the Colts teams of this era that I best remember. The sad thing was that they used the draft position in the '82 draft to take Art Schleister.

Even a hapless run defense in New England could not have made the Patriots a worse team then the 1981 Colts. I also think the 1980 'Aints' had a better ball club leaving Baltimore ahead of the expansion Buccaneers as the worst

Most of the hype surrounding Woodley was the expectation that he would be the next Bert Jones. Not all Bayou Bengal quarterbacks are the same.

I’m thinking Woodley accomplished more in the NFL than Bert. Jones was a mirage.

Maybe the argument can be made that Woodley's TEAMS accomplished more than Jones' - and that is a stretch. The Dolphins carried Woodley in particular the Killer B's and Don Strock. Look at how the Colts were before and after Jones as well as when he was injured. Compare Baltimore 1975-1977 and Miami 1981-1983. Jones led the Colts to the playoffs against two of the most dominant teams in NFL history. The defense and ... Woodstrock took the Dolphins to the playoffs in 1981 and the Super Bowl in 1982 where Woodley was not ready. At all.

My hate-on is renewed every time I see or hear Andra Franklin's name. Fumbles Franklin blew the greatest comeback v San Diego in the playoffs this year. (And 5 years later v New England in the playoffs) . Eff that guy.

This talk about David Woodley being the next gray quarterback for the dolphins is laughable given the Dan Marino shortly afterwards took over.
