Colts were one of my favorite teams when I was young. The '77 playoff game broke my heart. It is a shame that the Colts couldn't keep their colors.

A new training center built in 1979. Oh the irony!

They where on the way out with that little drunk who owned them. The league turned a blind eye to it too. Screw them all.

@@stevep8445 Do you happen to have a source for that? I would love to read more about it.

@@johncosgrove2114 What he said is accurate, but we need a little context. Irsay was the town drunk, openly shopping the team...trading players away because he didn't want to pay (Dutton, Mitchell, Chester, Scott, etc.) them, & missed multiple meetings with politicians down to radio executives...very little trust in him. The Colts did sell out multiple games in 1980 when they were quasi-competitive. The fans would have supported the team if management was competent...they were not.

MD State Police used it at one time.

The land it was on is now owned by Stevenson University (D3 school) which has its own stadium. The USFL team used it briefly after the Colts, and then I think it was a police training facility. I grew up < 10 minutes from there.

Welcome back and thank you. Seeing Irsay and Rozelle together looked awkward.
Thank you very much, very much appreciate. I remember all the classics from the late 60's and then 70's but don't recall this one. Hauntingly beautiful !! I was looking under " Chopinaise" by Sam Spence but could'nt find it anywhere. Have a great day..@@fromthefarside

The Baltimore Colts were in their final years. IMO the loss to the New York Jets in Super Bowl III left a bad taste in the late Carroll Rosenbloom's mouth & he felt embarrassed that he let his fellow NFL owners down by losing to the upstart AFL. Despite the Super Bowl V win over the Dallas Cowboys, he sought to own the Rams because he didn't want to own a team that was still remembered for the historic loss in January 1969. Hence the franchise swap with Bob Irsay.

His wife wanted to move to LA so he traded ownership with Irsay.
