You have a 200D? We did not get those as a W123 here in the states. Similar rules as the 240D and 300D that we got here. Always start with the basics. If you have old diesel fuel in the tank, drain it out. While the tank is empty, remove the pickup screen from the bottom of the tank and inspect the screen. Make sure the screen is clean. Replace both fuel filters at the engine. Refill fuel tank with fresh diesel. Check the clearance at the intake and exhaust valves of the engine, and adjust as necessary to factory specification. Depress the accelerator pedal (engine off!) all the way to the floor, and have an assistant look in the engine bay to make sure the throttle linkage is hitting the full throttle stop on the fuel injection pump. If it is not, figure out why the linkage is not allowing for full throttle - this is often due to wear at the throttle pivot point on the firewall. Inspect the glow plug system, and make sure all glow plugs are working when the ignition switch is in position 2. These are all of the things I look at initially whenever I come across a low power complaint on a diesel Mercedes. Hope this helps!

Great video. Sorry if I missed it but what size hoses and plugs did you use?
@AKJeeper3 жыл бұрын
Mercedes uses 7.5mm fuel hose, but for the purpose of doing a diesel purge - an easier-to-find 5/16" hose will work. Just be sure to clamp it down securely to the primary fuel filter so you don't have an air leak.

How many cans of diesel purge did you use? thanks.

Good job

did you have to bleed out fuel out the engine before getting the purge in there?
@AKJeeper3 жыл бұрын
No. I disconnected the fuel line coming from the tank…substituted a different line from the diesel purge can. Started the engine after making sure the end of the substitute fuel hose was submerged in the diesel purge can.
