I checked both teams while I was watching this. The Jets season was about what I remembered off the top of my head. The Pats, not so much. I don't recall them being 2-14 in the early 80s. I'm not saying they were world beaters, but too many good players to only win 2 games.

I love doing research like that as well. Yeah this Pats team - 2 and 14. Ouch

Man... 43 years ago and what do we see?: muffed kickoff return and getting tackled at the 1, and then they have to use a timeout on their first offensive possession.... things truly haven’t changed for the Jets LOL.

When you make as many big plays on defense as the Jets did and still barely scrape out a win you have to wonder

The patriots really gave everything they had in every game and still finished 2-14

From Boston as a 8 year old in 1981 I was first a huge Cowboys fan as Alot of kids were back then. But I also became a Pats fan in 81 and the first ever Pats game I remember was the hail Mary loss to Buffalo later this year. That was my introduction to being a Pats fan as well as the beginning of 20 years of Mediocrity scandals and misery !! Then of course things changed in 2001 with Mr Brady. And yes this Pats team was snake bitten in 81
