Do these bearings come apart as they do for the wheel bearings? That way you could drive in the two "outer parts (shells)" first (for each side) without having to think of the clamping method.

Best Virginia, The bearings are a unit since they are sealed, so you can't separate the inner race from the outer race without destroying the bearing.

@@BrooksAirheadGarage Thanks for the quick answer Brook! I was just wondering since they came apart pretty easily when I took them apart. After you take out the inner race, it's much easier to get the outer race out with a puller. Thanks anyway for the answer and your videos all together! It sometimes is a little bit overwhelming but once you get the hang of these 2-Valve machineries, it's really not too bad! Greeting from West Virginia, Peter

Brook, what tool or method did you use to remove the bearings? Any advice is appreciated.

@@BrooksAirheadGarage Thanks. For someone new to this, it's so cool that you have such a complete set of videos on the same bike. I also have a 1983 ST, right down to valve covers and and parts that were repainted orange. Must have been a fad.

No grease in the bearings?
@BrooksAirheadGarage2 жыл бұрын
Reno, they are sealed bearings that are greased in the factory, so you don't need to grease these.
