Dear Garysweeten5196, I smiled as I read your words. I hear you in ways that many could not and would not. May I ask if you have yet read the brilliant work of Ripperger on Mental Health in his recently released work? If not, it is perhaps a book written for the precious rare souls like yourself. Ripperger stated he thought about this book for over 10 years and thought no one may be interested. It is one of the most profound textbooks on mental health ever written. You may be one of the very few in the profession who will be capable of taking the profession of psychology back to a meaningful vocation and gift to the World, rather than the self perpetuating dependent industry of suffering. I agree with Shaeffer that philosophy cannot be separated from evangelism/apologetics anymore than reason can be separated from the bible when we read it. Thanks for the video FrancisShaefferStudies.org

I had the honor and privilege to be at L’Abri when Edith and Frances were there (age 17, 1973…yikes time does go fast). In his videos of “How Then shall We live” he emphasized the greatest downfall for America would be abortion. He was spot on! I’m truly glad he and Edith, plus folks in my parents age range are not here to see the downfall and destruction of this country!

Here Schaeffer has in mind our faculties of sense perception, rationality, memory, testimony, introspection, moral intuition all point to the existence of a being like that described in the Bible. So no need to answer the atheist with Bible quotes when you can answer them with the Kalam cosmological argument, or the fine-tuning arguments from the universe, solar system, creation of life from non-life, origin of information found in the DNA, the hard problem of human consciousness (we have an immaterial soul), arguments from the existence of objective moral values and duties, and various transcendent arguments such as no atheists in foxholes and arguments from objective beauty.

I got a problem with heroism. Why get people like CS Lewis and so on always get so lifted high. We are all slaves of Christ no one is higher or lower if he is a preacher or not we are all the body of Christ working together all redeemed by mercy through the blood of Jesus Christ. We are one in Christ not a fan of any preacher.

Frampa Frampa, you ever read Hebrews 11? The "heroism" here isn't like making individuals like the Pope or elevating man over God and the Scriptures. The heroes of Faith are examples we can learn from as people pointing us to God and learning His Word. Also, being able to effectively, by the Guidance of the Holy Spirit, to be witnesses of Christ to this fallen world. When you have an opportunity, read 1 Corinthians 1...
