Kuffar Legion well, if you think the darkness dark enough for us to have a record of it from antiquity was just dark clouds, then your too far from belief in whatever was recorded in the gospel there. I'll admit, that is one that has even the scholars universally stumped (as far as I know).. but I don't believe it would be there if something didn't happen. Since it happened one day in one City 2000 years ago, I'm not surprised that there wasn't a recorder of history standing around to describe it. There was a witness that told luke (I think it was.. I just woke up lol) and since he's universally accepted as the greatest historian of antiquity.. That works for me. I've seen some crazy things in my life.. But I didn't write them down at the time.. And there's multiple millions that could say the same. It's hard to imagine today with everyone having a recorder in their pocket I know, so think about it back then
@quewillbewillbe5 жыл бұрын
Kuffar Legion when my dad was in hospice and dying, which took a week or so, he kept saying that people were visiting him that nobody else saw. The kicker is that everyone he said that came to him was people who had already passed away. He didn't see the pope or any famous people, but it was people like our neighbor who had recently died, who told him not to worry about all the things he was worried about leaving, that they will all work out and that there are no problems like that where he was going. That's just one example. Anyways, I imagine that day in Jerusalem might have been something like that.. people started seeing other people that they knew were dead.. But when they left, that just kind of disappeared. And when they discovered the Graves that were opened because of the earthquake, some of them thought that is why they had seen someone dead walking around. Who knows how it works, but maybe when Christ was getting ready to open that door back from the dead to the living, he let some others through it for a bit. I don't know, but that's not the center of the faith the Lord has given me, it's only something I discovered later and it's not a stumbling block to me.. I hope you don't let it be to you either
@quewillbewillbe5 жыл бұрын
Kuffar Legion It's so common of an occurrence that it's in the hospice literature, recognized by the medial professionals that deal with the dying every day.. so yeah, I imagine it happened back then too. It tells you to expect your loved one to see spirits if the DEAD, not their favorite celebrity or some guy from work they saw every day and are just hallucinating. I don't know why you brought up yourself seeing someone when you were hospitalized but that was probably a drug induced hallucination or vivid dream. What's was your point anyway? You wanted to know how people saw dead people after Jesus died and I gave you an example of that type of thing happening even today. You don't want any answers because you think you know or all already. You even think you know why I'm a Christian but you could hardly be more wrong. I didn't think of death at all when the Lord called me, and I tell people about Him because 1. I'm absolutely sure that the Bible is truth and Jesus is alive. 2. It follows that hell is real and I don't want you to go there 3. Our God IS good.. Even wonderful and I experienced his presence and blessings all the time, and grow in wisdom and truth.. so why would anyone keep something like that to themselves?? 3. Jesus tells us to go and share the good news (aka the gospel)!! I seriously doubt that your persistence in unbelief outweighs my reasons for believing.. But that's your problem.. and it is sad. If you're right then we'll both die and that will be it. No gloating.. nothing mattered anyway, but if I were you I'd prepare for the judgement that the Lord tells us about.. And you do that only by having Jesus cover for you. So I recommend hiring the judges son for your lawyer 😉. BTW, I'm done with you. I write this for possibly someone else's benefit at this point. I'm not stupid enough to think you'll suddenly have something nice to say, actually I'm sure you've just got to rip what I've said to shreds, so have at it. I'm not gonna waist my time now but hopefully I've at least planted a seed

Later on while they were driving down the road they had a wreck, and everyone died, but when the police saw the trunk, that he was intact, they marveled when they open the trunk, there was a carton of eggs in the trunk, not one of them were broken. Thereafter, having given them commission to preach the gospel through the world, He was encompassed with a cloud and taken up to heaven, - a fact more certain far than the assertions of your Proculi concerning Romulus. All these things Pilate did to Christ; and now in fact a Christian in his own convictions, he sent word of Him to the reigning Caesar, who was at the time Tiberius. Darkness hates the Light. These people want to continue with the corruption that has enriched them their entire careers. I am cautiously optimistic in light of all the evidence they have found - many say they don't have enough, but does a poker player ever tip his hand? I think big things are going to be happening. So I am praying that we get to have this remarkable man for another four years. The Democratic party collectively are everything that God hates: Proverbs 6:16-19 KJV 16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. Yep, the Demoncraptic party possess these features in abundance! @@teresabaker-carl9668 I am sorry to hear of the illness restricting your reading Teresa. I am an atheist but I do believe Jesus existed but not that he was/is a God. My criticism of Paul Maier is that he is telling his audience that these things which he is "proving", are not already believed by agnostics, atheists or whoever. This is not true. The people and places he mentions are already well known and it reflects badly on his admirers on this forum that they are impressed by him. As for his mention of the evidence for Jesus in Josephus, I bought a copy of Josephus to see for myself and it is so obviously an addition by somebody else I am amazed that anyone can believe it. On just one eight of a page he talks about Jesus saying "He was the Christ". He then goes on ( on a full page )to relate a story about a woman tricked into sleeping with a wealthy Roman. Surely a God would warrant more space in a history book than a sex scandal? Sorry for being so long winded about this. Good luck to you Teresa.

I'm working on getting all of Maier's books. I didn't know what he was about when I got his Josephus about five years ago. I'd started Bible study again. And then his Eusebius. I forget where I saw his Pontius Pilate but I'm halfway through that. I've got 4 of his other novels. I struggle with my faith. But I'm wondering if someone can explain the sense of peace I get when I sit down and crack the Bible. For good or ill I spend most of my time on radical Islamic issues, which get me good and pissed off. When I finally sit down to the Bible study it's like a calm comes over me and almost like someone whispering in my ear, "this is where you're supposed to be. This is what you should be doing". Plus the added bonus of knowing which is "good" and which is "evil". I see Islam all over the scriptures. Especially when it talks of Christian martyrs and Revelation 20:4. I sometimes wonder if the Antichrist isn't so much a person as an ideology.

@@yuflangpu8368 Yahwah is based on the english transliteration of the tetragrammaton in paleo hebrew before the masoretic vowel markings. Many native tribes believe themselves that this is the case, and that their ancestors are of the lost 10 tribes of Israel. If you do your research on the subject I'M TALKING ABOUT, you'll see that this is the case. Im not saying there's no argument to the contrary. It makes sense to me. I don't know why you're so mad 😠but I'm pretty sure that arguing with you would be a masturbatory excercise as you've demonstrated that you're a disrespectful brat who MUST have it your way and MUST be right. The kind who watches a video about something and decides they are an authority. Perhaps had you approached me like a human we could've had a civilized debate.

@@whatistruth8690 yup, Talmudic jews would have us believe it's blasphemy to utter the name at all. There is plenty scriptural evidence to the contrary, that we should know his name, declare it, and publish it. But based on a single verse where the hebrew is sorely and purposely mistranslated the jewish elders of the Sanhedron are trying to keep the Holy Name to themselves, as though God were for them only. After all, the Babylonian Talmud states that the Gentile exists ONLY to provide service to the Jew. That the soul of the Jew is higher than the Gentile. Comparatively like the difference between the soul of the Gentile and a donkey, such, they believe is the difference between the soul of the Jew and the Gentile.

Yoseph Kaifa.... and how many "high Priest" had the same name. Even in Josephus....you find 11 different men named "Jesus". You have no "DATE" for this supposed "EVIDENCE".

I wish I majored in archaeology, I would have understood you better. Thanks for the brilliant presentation. I was at the edge of my seat through the whole talk. You don't have to be a Christian believer to appreciate the logical facts of Paul Maier.

There's nothing logical about believing what is written in a book. Thankfully we stopped believing ancient texts and then we had the reformation, the birth Science and reason, which created the opportunities we now take for geanted.

Was their ever books outside the bible that talked about the dead that rose when jesus was crucified and if so what did they say?
@Itsatz04 жыл бұрын
Here are the facts. They are pretty simple. Only the bible says the miracles happened. No 1st cent. historian, Roman official, Greek scholar, Jewish scholar nor anybody else says anything not only of Jesus, but Paul, all of the disciples and all of the miracles. No one rose from the dead and wrote about it. No one wrote of a relative who came back. According to the bible, when Paul went to Athens, (which was the center of philosophy in the ancient world), all the philosophers humbled themselves before Paul in reverence to the new message he was spreading. In real life, not one of them says a word about Paul, Jesus nor Christianity. Like it never happened. That's pretty crazy isn't it? I assure you my facts are straight. It gets even crazier, you see if you go to your pastor and ask him what the best evidence is for the existence of Jesus, he will say "Josephus." There is a paragraph, in the histories of Judea, written by Josephus in the first century, that mentions Jesus. It isn't an eyewitness account, Josephus was born after Jesus supposedly died. One paragraph out of 80,000 paragraphs. It is a forgery. Anyone tells you otherwise, send them to me. I like putting liars in their place. Especially people who lie to children. Christianity is a proven fairytale, the miracles never happened. That goes for Judaism and Islam too.

@@Itsatz0 well I'm not sure about all lies and fairytales. I went to Pakistan for a month and prayed over people who were dying and in that moment they got up to start cooking. A baby who could not walk is now walking. A lady who was on a mat 20 years got up in front ifca whole group of people. And I saw Demons leave people. Now just because we do not know all things does not make it a lie. The bible is told from the beginning to the end so you could see the truth yourself. More and more is coming true. So look at the cloth over Jesus head even it had DNA proving Jesus only had blood from a women. Please recheck your facts, with a softer heart and let the truth in. He is coming soon and you do no tg want to get left behind. Blessings.

@@lindahughes960 You wanted to know the historical evidence, and I supplied it. I also gave an example of the absolutely depraved things Christians have done. If you are that historically lazy that you accept a cloth as evidence, without asking how it came into our hands, I assume the shroud of Turin, then no wonder you relate spirituality with Christianity. How come god can perform miracles healing those people you mentioned, and leave millions of children to be preyed upon by his own clergy? How come he lets so many crimes to be committed in his name?
