1984 - Ocean Pacific (OP) - The Most 80s Commercial Ever Made

Every 80s design cliché is crammed into one 30 second commercial. The colors, transitions, music, clothes and premise are all as 80s as it gets.
A guy in sunglasses (at night, I think?) is cruising down a deserted two-lane highway, driving in the very center of the road. Suddenly, an attractive woman materializes out of a digital tornado, and joins him in the vehicle. The couple soon pass an OP billboard, which, strangely enough, features themselves. The image on the sign comes to life and replaces the couple as they continue down the road.

I'm really hoping that their brand was strong enough in 1984 to have a majority of watchers know this thing is about clothing. Today, several folks have already asked me what this was supposed to be selling, so the message was definitely lost in time.
