When getting into the Fiero, DO NOT use the steering wheel as a handhold to lever yourself into the seat...and don't use it to exit the car either. Failure to use an alternate way of getting into or out of your Fiero will have the steering column assembly wearing out & needing repair. 8:35

No vented rotors in front, that was only in '88 Fieros, and never ever ever open the front hood by where you grabbed it, that is weak and easy to break, reach in, grab at the main body of the hood down in the wiper well/cowling.

84 through 87s used Chevette front suspension and brakes, drive train was from Chevy Citation! (Yes, front wheel drive) 84s only offered 2.5 L Iron Duke ( Tech 4 ) 4 banger. 85s and later had 2.8 L V6 optional. Iron Duke is very reliable but low on power. Fuel economy ok but not spectacular. Don't be misled these are not sports cars but they are fun to drive it you have a manual transmission avoid the auto tranny! trips Not a car for cross country trips, fuel tank is tiny!

@@JohnShields-df8od it's amazing the innovation gm used to save money, the iron Duke is usually reliable, but in the Fiero application it was pretty bad for 3 reasons, in the 84 only model year, the oil pan was way too small, 3 quarts, leading to oil starvation, there were defects with the connecting rods from the engine factory, leading to high failure rates, and the Duke was never meant to be a sporty high revving engine, but with a body like the Fiero's, owners would drive it in ways that it didn't like. They were originally classified as a commuter car, but did alright compared to dedicated sports cars, all things considered. Many of the later comparisons that give mediocre results compared the Fiero to other cars (supercharged mr2) that were almost double the Fiero's price, and the Fiero still did better in several ways. It was quite literally the poor man's Ferrari, for the price there was nothing like it!
