A redesigned Redskins logo introduced in 1972 was proposed by Walter Wetzel, a former Blackfoot tribal chairman and past president of the National Congress of American Indians, and was modeled after the likeness on the Buffalo nickel.

Theismann's pass to Didier at 1:50 was incredible. He never really got the credit he deserved. The pass to Wayne Smith at 10:40 wasn't as good. Looked like Muhammed slowed up. Art Monk was clutch here, too! The team had so many great players throughout the 80s. Thanks for sharing this.
@MaximusWolfe10 ай бұрын
He got the MVP award in 83. What sort of credit do you think he deserved above that? In any case, the fact that he sold out and started shilling for Dan Snyder and the new look, new name charade (“commanders”) means he gets no respect from me. Theisman is a quisling, pure and simple.
@iceberggslim2210 ай бұрын
I was only 4 years of age and I just know the city was buzzing after this thriller. Some quick takeaways are… Art Monk was a huge WR and a filthy route runner, Joe Gibbs had nerves of steel, Neil Lomax had no conscious throwing the ball (gun slinga) and Roy Green was a nightmare

It’s a shame the atmosphere around our Redskin game yes REDSKINS is not like this anymore. I am grateful things are starting to change for our organization. I just really really hope that we have another rebranding and we drop the commanders name. The name is horrible. It is 100%, and the uniforms are just as bad at one time not only did we have the best franchise in the league we had the best uniforms to go with the best atmosphere to play the best character. I mean we were sold out every home game for 30+ years fucking take that. !!!!!!!!!!PS- I hate to say this, but I think the league has figured out Cliff Kingsbury again not to mention toughest two game part of the schedule we just got beat that should be very very concerning if you’re a true Washington fan!

My old team and the glory days ...
@michaeldamulis99422 ай бұрын
Love my REDSKINS yes REDSKINS, but sadly to say I know I’m gonna catch a lot of shit for this, but I’m a realist. I am thankful to have a decent quarterback, but I think the league has figured him out because the league has figured out Cliff Kingsbury again and when we need both of them, they poo poo the bed. Jaden‘s numbers have gone down since the Chicago game no touchdowns and an average of 200 yards passing that won’t win a college game let alone NFL and sadly to say I really think the league has figured out Kingsbury for the second time, anybody in the hot seat it’s Adam Peters and I think he just fucked up by trading for Latimore giving up three picks for an injury prone corner who will not see the field until week 14 !!
@michaeldamulis99427 ай бұрын
When Theismann was on honestly, my opinion, there was nobody better and yes, I am a Redskin fan, but I’m not throwing shade our way. I’m old enough to appreciate the glory days. I’ve been a fan from birth. Tell death yes for the last 20 to 23 years they’ve been horrible, but if anybody knows anything you can thank Mr. Snyder for that, he knows he did wrong. Why do you think he lives in London now because every Redskin fan wants his nuts on the shelf he destroyed one the most colorful franchises in NFL history not only was he a horrible owner. He is just a very bad person. He does bad things and he thinks that he is above everybody even feeling entitled I’m guessing. At first when he bought the team and then we got the stadium. It seemed everything was in place to keep on going after old man passed away, but I can say for the first time since Mr. Cook left us. I feel that we have the right people where they should be we have football people where football people should be, not a bunch of men anyway Theismann in his prime was a fucking awesome quarterback and just take a look at RFK not a better place in the league to play a game

Charlie Casserly ruined the Redskins before Snyder had a chance to. Can anyone name a great draft pick while he was GM. Overpaid all the free agents and very few were productive. Didn’t help that Norv Turner kept talent on the bench so high paid failures could stink it up on the field.
