1985 4RUNNER BUILD PART 3

Hello everyone! I had so many hours of footage that I couldn't fit it all into one video. So I made two parts to the front axle rebuild. This part was pulling it out of the truck and stripping it down, then painting and welding the gusset and armour on. The second part will be coming very soon! I saw somewhere that the auto/lunchbox lockers on the first gen will only engage when the hubs are locked. Do you know if that’s true? I did an ARB in the back, and am considering what to do in front. But don’t want to do the lunchbox if it’s engage any time it’s in 4wd. Thanks in advance!

The lack of brake fluid dripping... Might be a collapsed, or semi collapsed, flex line. They can collapse on the inside and essentially turn themselves into a check valve so pressure will go to the caliper but not flow back on its own.

Hopefully between finding time for your boys and whatever else needing doing you keep these coming. Great effort. I don't go near my old Land Cruiser without a gas torch by my side - Scotland's salted roads are not friendly to old Yodas.

the first one is the antiwrap bar to keep axle in place and the other is sway bar.

Hey I just got a 1st gen 4 runner and the timing chain went out before I got it the person paid 3k to rebuild the top end with paperwork and since the rebuild he said it had a tick while accelerating. It does tick but it doesn’t over heat and it runs good.. so should I be worried? The internet said it could be an exhaust leak, old fuel injectors, lifters, and possibly valves that need adjusting.. I don’t know that much when it comes to weird noises

Some of them always have a tick anyways. If it is something wrong, it won’t be crazy expensive or hard to fix. Maybe ask for a discount.
