Pretty interesting interview between the second and third period with Brett Hull. He was a late round pick by Calgary and despite clear and obvious signs that he was an elite scorer, he was traded to St. Louis in an otherwise inconsequential trade. Obviously one of the worst trades ever made in NHL history and one that I will never understand. Great upload, please keep 'em coming!

It's pretty wild seeing an interview with Hull while he's watching the Flames play against the team he'd eventually score 86 goals with. What a time capsule that is.

Oh, Kerry Fraser! To bungle a Game 6 Conference Final so badly. At the end of a scoreless 1st period, Lanny Macdonald (without any help) crashes into Blues goalie Wamsley as time expires. Gilmour for STL drops him. STL #4 and CAL #29 get coincidentals. No penalty for Macdonald.... 2 min minor for Gilmour WHILE STL is already one man short. The correct move here is coincidentals all around and let STL try to kill Sutter's earlier slashing penalty to begin the 2nd period. You see Kerry Fraser tell Macdonald 'I GOT HIM.... I GOT HIM!!!". Read his lips when Madonald gets to his feet next to Fraser at the net. ALSO...... As a hockey ref.... when a scrum breaks out... you have to position yourself so that you can see everything that is going on. Outside of the scrum. Fraser is RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF IT - behind the net. He is also busy dragging Wamsley out of the crease while Otto is pummelling Blues players. He was not watching the action. HUGE write-up by my evaluator if I was being scored for my ref performance. SO he awards Calgary a 2 man advantage to start the second. Calgary makes a great play to take the 1-0 lead. THEN.... THEN.... THEN while STL is still shorthanded Fraser calls what has to be the SOFTEST - lamest - unbelievable roughing penalty on STL #23 Norwood for contact to the head of Quinn 53:27 mark of this video. (listen to Bill Clement and Ken Wilson lament the call - this is the freaking playoffs). Calgary scores again on 2man advantage. 2-0.. THEN - let's go to 1:28:32 - score is 3-1 Calgary - STL takes a deserved slashing call. On the faceoff, Lanny Macdonald slew-foots #5 Rob Ramage allowing John Tonelli to pick up the loose puck and fire it in. (Bill Clement somehow misses this as he says the Blues have nothing to complain about) - This was an OBVIOUS and BLATENT interference/trip that created the scoring opportunity. Fraser flat out misses it and Ramage gets a 10 Minute Misconduct. Take the Blues best Defenseman out of the game 6 playoff game with his team down 4-1 when 3 of Calgary's 4 goals are directly linked to your officiating. If i were his supervisor I would not only drop Fraser from the playoffs, I'd suspend him from the 86-87 playoffs. Wow. Wow. (Fraser is later forced to call a soft penalty on a shorthanded Calgary in the 3rd period to try to "even-up" the calls and give STL a 2-man advantage.) That was a lame call as well , but we all new what he was doing. STL overcomes the travesty of officiating to win this game making it more of a miracle than anyone really remembers.
