Every diesel swap we did was a smoker till we ran many tanks through it and we had to clean the carb three times during all that. Eventually we got her cleared out and it ran good. Diesel is a gift that keeps on giving.😊

Mine too my 82; Chevy k20 Silverado was a vinz 6.2 litre diesel and the bottom end was loose so it got a completely rebuilt 1984 Chevy 416 casting heads high output 305 sbc and a summit racing brand k1102 cam kit and it still smoked like crazy at idle for about 4 months after the swap

Seems like i ended up having to run like 104 octane booster red bottle til it would run right and it was a pain to start cold

Here's what i ended up doing with the early 94 Chevy Z71 Silverado extended cab short bed truck 350 0.40 tbi i bought a ateam performance billet aluminum new distributor for the truck it's actually a southwest performance out of California product and they buy them in bulk from tsp performance out of Texas i don't believe it is top speed performance though, anyway i bought a ac d194s brand name ignition control module and bam no more goofy timing and constant backfire issues and when that truck backfires out of the glass pack muffler deep tone dual exhaust pipes and 3 1/2 inch single wall stainless steel angle cut heartthrob brand exhaust tips it sounds like a for a example Winchester 12-16 side by side double barrel shot gun shooting both barrels simultaneously and yes the neighbors hated the truck lol

Hey hey y'all! Hope all's well with you guys and you're having a wonderful week thus far! Pray that the rest of your week goes great and looking forward to seeing everyone here next Wednesday! Remember to give Mr Chad a huge thumbs up on this video and share to your own social media pages to help spread the channel and help Chad to keep bringing us these awesome videos! MLAR (much love and respect) ~ Scott 💙🙏🏼 I know it's probably gonna trigger some folks... and it most likely would me too these days but... back many many years ago, a friend of mine had a dog named Lowrider and he would chase cars so we tied about 150ft of rope to a couple cinder blocks and the other end to his collar and we took off up the road. Needless to say, after a few passes Lowrider didn't chase cars anymore 😁🤷🏻‍♂️

Hey Chad! Looking good man! F.Y.I. When drilling frame holes, if you mark your bolt hole location and then spot heat to cherry red with your torch, it will cut like butter and not effect the temper of the surrounding metal! Keep on keeping on! 😎

Hey, you should get one of those vevor round fans with the tube attachment, to help suck some of that smoke out of your shop. I rigged one up on the end of my home made shop heater, Mr.Explody, and that fan has some power to it. Inexpensive as well. I'm pretty impressed with that brand. I bought the extension cord reel as well and it's awesome. If you have an email I'll send you a couple of pictures of the heater. LoL I wasn't sure it'd work until after it was done. It's a beast, but kinda ghetto.

Here's a idea take your air lift jack get you some heavy duty rubber anti slip mat and liquid nails adhere it on the top of the air jack pad to protect your knees and give you a bit more extra footing when you have to stand on it and lean over to work on the project..

My opinion is that carburetor that you bought is a big piece of junk. I had one just like it that I bought offline and I threw it in the trash and I went to the store and bought me an Edelbrock carburetor It was the best decision I ever made. And all I did is bought a $15 adapter off of Amazon and put it on.

Popping through the carb could be a lean issue. Smoking could be diesel soot / oil in the exhaust still or maybe the trans modulator diaphragm is letting Trans fluid in the vacuum line.

Hey Chad I soooo appreciate your content!! I wanted to just say that on the trans x-member, although, ideally, you'd wanna install 8 fasteners, you can get by with the lower (4) bolts. The natural effect of the poweplant is to thrust upward as well as twis on an axis on acceleration. Because of that, the trans will this on that same rotational axis. The axis line is fore n aft, so the bolts are more of a stabilizer rather than a locator, if that makes sense. Of course, if you experience a popping noise on hard acceleration, then that x-member is in need of the upper hardware, but I doubt it's gonna be an issue whatsoever. Anyhow, thank you for what you do, God bless you n your family!!!

Contrary to popular belief a gas engine will run on diesel AS LONG AS THE ENGINE IS GOOD AND HOT! a guy I worked with 30 years ago didn't believe that til one day on the way to Nashville we ran out of gasoline ( we were in a Ford truck with a diesel tank in the back for heavy equipment) just as soon as it died on the side of the road, I told him to put just enough in the tank to get us to a service station, he put approximately a gallon in Maybe a little less,, I said now while it's still good and hot crank it,,, IT STARTED UP WE WENT ABOUT 8 MILES FILLED UP WITH GASOLINE AND WENT ON ABOUT OUR BUISENESS,, I LEARNED THAT OLD TRICK FROM MY UNCLE YEARS EARLIER!!! THAT FELLA WAS A BELIEVER AFTERWARDS AND TOLD EVERYONE HE SEEN ABOUT IT..... THE ENGINE HAS TO BE HOT!!!!!!! IF IT'S COLD,,,,,,,,,,,, IT WON'T START ON DIESEL,,,,, same principal as all the old tractors that ran on kerosene back years ago, they had a smaller tank for gasoline to start on and heat the engine up to RUN ON KEROSENE!! old John deeres internationals ( f20- f30) all the ones that ran on distillate or kerosene ! That's why they had shutters on the radiator,, you closed those to KEEP THE TEMPERATURE HIGH TO ATOMIZE THE KEROSENE/DISTILLATE! ! YOU HAVE TO KEEP THEM AROUND 200° F TO RUN AND HAVE ANY POWER!! That's for all you folks that know nothing about that kind of stuff,,, I'M PRETTY DERN SURE CHAD KNOWS IT!! ALREADY. HE OWNS A FEW OF THOSE TYPES OF TRACTORS AND KNOWS WHAT I'M REFERRING TO....
