I remember Paul Kilroe (son of Tim, the owner of Forgive n Forget,) was in my brother's class, two years below me at St Ambrose prep school. They brought the Cheltenham Gold Cup into school (I was 10 and my brother was 8) and drank lemonade out of it. One of the other lads in the same class as my brother was Martin McNeill, son of the first Captain of a British football team to lift the European Cup (Billy McNeill, Celtic 1967). He was Manchester City manager at the time. We now run the pub our parents had in the 80's and where we lived during this era. The Cheltenham Gold Cup Day is arguably the biggest day of the year in the pub and certainly has the best group of people. Tim's grandchildren are regulars, Tim, Eddy and Ronan. Great lads.
