Time for Wayno's injector unsticking routine. If that bad looking stuff on Betty's crank is melted on bearing shell material it will clean/grind off. If it is gouged, then it is shagged. Worth finding out which.

It’s junk. It’s been steel on steel Injector is back to fine. I drove it a few hundred miles and didn’t have an issue. Was just some debris perhaps but seems good now

The old volvo F10 and F12 back in the 70s and 80s had the Williams air foot throttle...wouldn't work unless the air pressure was built right up as well .

I watched you work all around that throttle rod and it drove me crazy. I kept thinking man just take it loose. Something like that is always in the way. Whether it be wires or a line of some kind or a bracket or something else. At least when that stuff was built it was built to some extent to be worked on. Today's vehicles are so buried in crap you can't get to much of anything. Where are you located? I thought I heard you mention Alabama.
@JamesPretty2 жыл бұрын
I’m in north west Georgia. I considered taking it off but it’s in rough shape and I don’t have any replacement parts if I snapped it. But ya I should have anyway

James couldn't you use the crank out of truck x to get Betty back going
@JamesPretty2 жыл бұрын
that's a good question, however I believe X is down because of no oil pressure so I believe the crank is bad I will be looking at it soon I have found a crank for 1300$ just got a bunch of stuff to pay for before I can get it.. but its on the list.

Have fun at the ATHS show. All your trucks are worthy of taking to the show. I use to go to the national conventions with my uncle and father. We took a 70 Dodge cab over and my uncle the took his 48 Dodge single axel tractor and his 75 freightliner.

I know that you love old nostalgic engines and all, and determining whether its cat, cummins, or detroit that you favor. For my part, detroit never built a good engine until the 60 series engines came about... the 12.7 and now the 14 liter engines are building serious power, dependability plus great mileage so its run on the edge or go to a engine that you put the valve cover on an drive till the cows come home. I love my cummins but they have their own sets of problems... like a driver who has never drove one can kill it on one trip. Cat is all that and a bag of chips but guess what, you start poor and stay poor as long as you entertain owning them. Just my two cents James

As far as the drill is concerned ...nothing like a well oiled machine...someone once told me regarding old engines is that if there's oil on the floor there's oil in the engine...no oil on the floor , start worrying..

Hi James can’t have her runnin away on ya! That just won’t do. Wild that one stuck injector could be the culprit. Boy that linkage looks to have seen better days almost looks fragile to me. The air throttle idea may work tho. I’m not familiar with that set up. Curious tho how would it work until the truck built up air? I remember you mentioning that you’d have to use it on Krystal also. Marla sounds good and healthy tho. Was kinda a bummer to hear on the last video Marla still has leaks in the roof. Eventually you’ll find them hopefully sooner than later. Stay safe can’t wait to see the next video
@JamesPretty2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Darren. I’ll post a video on the air throttle if I can find it I put it on the Belvedere it takes very little air for it to work it’s almost instant. I’ll hook up its Own air tank right at the beginning of the air system so it’s first to get air
