Now these were real chasers. Todays can not hold a candle to them.

Brad was top class but I am not sure about the "as always" part.

@@seanscanlon9067 it's a matter of opinion Sean and I followed brads career from the very start, he's definitely one of the most stylish and best jockeys I've seen from an era of greats like dunwoody and declan Murphy Paul carberry to name a few

Yeah I have never doubted his riding ability, just whether he was always trying to win or not.

@@seanscanlon9067 not every horse is run on its merits no matter who's riding but its mostly in handicaps and surely you know that goes on? Handicapping?
@seanscanlon9067 Жыл бұрын
Yeah I know that goes on but from memory, Brad tode a short odds on shot for his dad in a two horse race that was beaten and there were suspicions that he stopped it. It was either pulled up or tailed off, I might be remembering the finer details wrong though, so would have to look it up.

Its sad to think that when he was beaten in his last gold cup by Dawn run he wasn't 100% either and he had had an interupted preparation for the race and if it had been any other race he definitely would not have ran but he wasn't getting any younger and it could be his last gold cup so they let him take his chance, it was sad to watch him empty on the run in

@@paultaylor7624 Not his last he also ran in the 1987 Gold Cup. I would say he was a gallant runner up to Dawn Run. He looked all over the winner after the last but Jonjo somehow brought the Mare to Victory. Still he had some cracking Chasers behind him in Forgive N Forget, Run and Skip, Righthand Man and Combs Ditch. To be placed in a Gold Cup is a tremendous achievement.

i always presumed BHLs injury before the 85 gold cup was the one that put him out for 3 years. Obviously a different injury so.
