Awesome video. As a swede I feel very proud of this masterpiece of a car. Still see them everywhere here!

@@rustyoldchevy1149 They're getting scarce, especially when they're in as good condition as the one you snagged. Do the maintenance, and I wouldn't be surprised if you get 500K or more miles out of it. It's not a race car and you won't get more than 22 mpg, but it will get you where you're going for a long time.

Bought my red '85 in May 1990, with just over 100,000 miles on it. Only car I've driven all that time.

It is the resonance of this red block in the 240 format! Not the sound; but the actual vibration it makes. I love this vibe!

We seem to have a lot in common! I have a number of Volvo 240s in the wagon version (245). As well, I've owned a '49 Nash and currently have a '55 Nash-Rambler. Turns out, I live not far from you in Broward County. What a fantastic channel!!! So glad I found it. I enjoy everything you produce and appreciate your time and wisdom! Thank you!

As a kid in West Virginia, we didn’t have a lot of high dollar foreign made vehicles, so these old Volvos were like Bentleys in our minds, my first job was detailing vehicles at a very small Richardson Volvo Toyota Datsun Fiat Dealership and the Volvos just had a different smell and feel to them, all I got to do was wheel em around the lot, but for a 15 year old it was a dream job. I’m not sure it’s true but the dealership owner was a card player and I heard he lost the dealership in a card game.

It does have a very distinct smell inside, it even smells like a European car!

Actually i recently sold it. It was a well built car, but my love for old cars keeps me buying and selling them a lot! The only thing I didnt like was how the cars use 2 fuel pumps, and new parts dont seem to be as good as the originals!

@@rustyoldchevy1149 My '90 740 has just the one pump, which is in the tank. I replaced it for the first time 2 years ago at 440k kilometers. As far as the quality of new parts I purchase genuine Volvo parts whenever possible and haven't noticed any deterioration in those. I can't speak for the quality of aftermarket parts.
