This 1985 Volvo 240 "Brick" has been off the road for about 20 years in total due to serious rust issues, parked outdoors for 15 and then parked in a old garage shed for the last 5 years. Will it run and drive again?

I don't agree with you they are not under appreciated here in Europe and trying to buy an old 200 Series Volvo is quite expensive some trading for thousand in far worse condition than this, Hipsters have made them very expensive to buy now because there is a trend for 70s and 80s Swedish cars
Ahh, found a perfect video to watch at 2am ❤ i love volvo 240, i have one.

Looks like my first Volvo. My oval originally came from California. Still had a California license plate. At first the ignition switch was very sticky. It was a donation car. While getting out of work from the car. I saw a family unicorn pull off and look at my car. I figured it was the man's family

My 145 had about 3 transmissions, constant fuel injector problems, rusted like mad, but the final blow was when it blew it's engine. Rip big orange.

i got a question, u started it with 15y old gas? didnt clean the tank or something
@DaysofCars13 күн бұрын
I knew it was as good as empty by looking at the gauge and bounce the car by the towing hitch, and tested if it was willing to ignite by priming the carburator with new high 98 octane fuel. It was willing to run, so i filled the tank with a full gas can with that same type 98 octane fuel. The tank sending unit got a screen and there is a finer filter near the or inside carburators that will clog up usually before you got some start/run issues and need to remove the tank for cleaning. The only thing that made the engine not run 100% in this video especially when it was cold, was a EGR pipe with pit rusted holes. I have removed a gas tank on another 240 few years ago due to welding, and that tank was like new inside, but for the long trips a tank cleaning will give a piece of mind i guess. Thank you for question and watching

What is that handle on the boot
@DaysofCars15 күн бұрын
Have no idea. Have never seen it on other volvo 240`s and i see no reason to install it for when you use the key, the trunk pops up and you can open and close it by grabbing that moulding at that edge... a mystery handle.. Maybe for people on skis or rollerskates..
