Towards the start Murray Walker rattled off some HP figures for the cars, Holden commodore about 400hp, BMW 635csi 330hp, Nissan skyline about 315hp, no wonder Dick Johnson struggles in some races the mustang has about 285--300hp in similar weight body shell to the commodore, mustang needs MORE HP!! About another 100 or so i reckon, it corners well etc but not enough grunt!

The BMW was crippled by Gp A rules. In Alpina trim for the ETTC the twin cam M Sport engine was over 400 hp. As fpr Dicks Mustang well he did not have a modern version of the 302 Windsor engine. He did not have a good engine guy at the time.
