I had a 1986 CR80. As a high school kid it took me a year to save up for it. Loved that bike. Thanks for the memories.

I expected it to smoke a tad bit more for a first start up, it may be running lean typically when idling and off idle it will smoke a touch

Thank you for the video and great job on the restoration!!! I have a 1984 CR80 I am putting back together and have a simple question for you. I have always ran a 32:1 mix on all of 2 smokers. The shop manual for this particular bike states a 20:1 mixture. Since the previous owner seized the piston, I am skeptical to run a leaner mixture. Should I do as the manual states or as I have always done? I sometimes feel the manual may be on the conservative side. Your input will be appreciated. Thank you-- Tony

Hey Tony, sorry for the late reply. I think as long as you use a synthetic 2 stroke oil you should be able to get away with 32:1. I've run 32:1 in this bike since I finished the rebuild and it runs great with no problems

@Northern MX Thanks! I have ran it through several heat cycles and no issues. I turned it loose yesterday and she ran great. 32:1 seems to be just right.

Hi Buddy, can you tell me where I can get a Rear Mudguard/ Fender for an 86 CR80 please. Thank you.
@northernmx59732 жыл бұрын
That might be really hard to find. I would maybe get one for a newer 80 and cut it to fit
