Denny Hulme was right in his assessment on how race tracks where being altered/scrapped. He made the same complaint the following year when Bathurst added the chase. It's morbid to say, but a part of me is glad he didn't live to see the last 30+ years of how F1 tracks have evolved

Ford should have used the Holset (twin scroll ) turbo charger that would have a a great deal less lag and the power come on at much lower revs - similar to the Holset turbos used in Indy cars ( by Cosworth no less ) but Ford had a Garrett agreement. To be on the pace and not blow up - they needed an evolution XR4Ti .
