Looks great as always, Dave. I wish the Seahawks would've kept that look. It's something how the Kingdome had a terrible atmosphere for baseball but a great one for football. Ken O'Brien was a pretty damm fine talent.

you've been on a roll lately, appreciated! I remember this year the Jets started on such a roll and then skidded out the rest of regular season

Killer loss for my Seahawks. They were on such a roll at the end of the season, but this mid-season faceplant kept them out of the playoffs due to tiebreakers with other 10-6 AFC teams (Jets, KC). I still think if they'd qualified, they could have made a deep run.

Thanks, Dave. This is the same station I watched in on. This was a rarity for me... being able to watch my Seahawks on WBRE. The switch to Gilbert cost us the playoffs. RIP, Sid Michaels -WBRE sportscaster. Also, Brian Francis' real name is Brian Roche and he is on WGAL.

People forget that this Seahawks team beat the Super Bowl Champion Giants. Jets looked very sharp and looked destined for a playoff run as well.

As a Giants fan I don’t. The Giants only lost 2 games that season. The opening game against the Cowboys and against the Seahawks.

A complete 180 from the Giants game's defensive performance. From forcing 4 Ints and 7 sacks against the Giants to giving up 553 Total yards and 5 touchdowns against the Jets.

The Seahawks beat both Super Bowl contenders in 1986. Sports Illustrated predicted that they’d make the Super Bowl the next year.

1:36:54 Paul Maguire continues his crusade against the Jets! A few weeks later when the Jets went to 10-1 (best in the NFL), Maguire infamously - but correctly - predicted they would lose all 5 of their remaining regular season games. Despite the collapse, the Jets managed to back into the playoffs; won big vs. the Chiefs in the wild card round; and had the Browns on the ropes in Cleveland. But they blew a 10-pt lead with 4 minutes left in the 4th and eventually lost a heartbreaker in double overtime. For that very talented Jets team, a sad case of "What might have been."

Thanks so much, Dave, this is a great game. Nicely restored! Jets of the mid Eighties had so much talent, they just couldn’t get over that proverbial hump and at least make it to a Super Bowl. Oh, well. Still waiting. Maybe the curse of Joe Namath selling his soul to win SB III is true after all? Lol!

1986 Jets = 2023 Eagles After looking like Super Contenders for the first 12 weeks of the season, both teams just completely collapsed. The Jets regular season collapse was probably worse as they were getting just worked by lobsided scores. But to their credit, unlike the Eagles, they were able to win a playoff game and gave a very good Browns team all they wanted.

As someone who was just a little bit too young to watch Ken O'Brien during the first few years of his career, what caused him to go from being a Pro Bowl-caliber player who could go toe to toe with guys like Dan Marino, to being a backup and relative afterthought within a decade?

This must be a merge of WNBC or KING and then once the Bengals-Lions audience joins, it changes to another source. I'm guessing the station airing this game had Bengals-Lions as their first game.

Yeah I didn't realize it was two sources till I started working on the project. The first 10 minutes or so is pretty good, but then the second source kicks in at lower quality. With the enhancement though it isn't too bad of a switch.
