The NFL today is like a combination of flag football and arena football, it's a joke. You can't relate to the players, they don't have the aura about them like you really want to meet them. Watching the games, quarterbacks have so much time in the pocket compared to before. The media likes to overrate players even if they play like trash.

It always felt like a big game. Now it's just another game and it's lost all of it luster. Oh well. Still hoping for the time machine 😒🤔😕 and thanks Bart

Norv Turner and Charlie Casserly destroyed the Redskins, Snyder actually improved the team a bit from that point although I wouldn't say he has done a good job. The Redskins from 1993 until Snyder bought the team was the biggest joke in the league. I can't think of a decent draft pick during that time. Although Michael Westbrook had a good season eventually. We even had a first round draft pick that ended up cut before opening day. Snyder shows up and started demanding players be cut for bad performance and the Millionaire players who cashed a Redskins check in free agency just to make a joke of the game started to straighten up.

I never thought in many life times I would see this organization fall to the levels it is. This use to be called one of the best franchises not just in the NFL but it sports. We had an identity. You never heard nor saw about JFK unless it got to playoff time. We never had to worry nor hear about the front office at all about foolishness. Now the front office is getting more coverage than the team on the field especially the owner. Thats a problem

The previous week on MNF Bernie Kosar set a strange NFL record by becoming the first QB in NFL history to throw for at least 400 yards without a TD. There had been 80 400 yard games before that with the passer at least throwing one TD pass. The very next week the 49ers at Redskins game took place, and Montana would become the 2nd QB in NFL history to throw for 400 yards without a TD pass. Life is weird.

I think Jay Novacek should be in, but I'll not insult the voters because they disagree with me. I like that Canton has not been polluted like Cooperstown has. RFK was always rocking especially on Monday night, This '86 Redskins team was really good but they couldn't beat the Giants that season, New York beat Washington three times in "86. Including the NFC championship game 17-0.

Coming into this game, SF was having a disappointing season. Bill Walsh asked his staff what should be done to help the team play better. Mike Holmgren suggested that the 49ers should stick with Montana instead of a 2 QB system. Walsh agreed to try it, but told Holmgren he’d fire him if Washington beat them in this game. Great coach, and man he didn’t fuck around.

I’m the biggest redskins fan that there can be and this was a darn good win by the skins but just looking at Montana and the 49ers after this loss you get this vibe that they’re saying to themselves “we weren’t gonna tolerate losing anymore.” I dunno I just think good teams learn from Each other skins bears giants 49ers. It’s all good

The NFL was sure fun in the 80's interesting that only 2 Super Bowls was won by the AFC (Raiders)...yep, the NFC dominated the 80's Redskins, Bears, 49ers, Giants....all great teams in the 80's for sure.

This was the last time the Redskins beat the 49ers until 1999. The 49ers went on a 7-0 run against the Skins after this game including two wins in the divisional playoffs in 1990 and 1992. I know this because my dad was a huge Redskins fan and he loathed the 49ers with a passion. He never explained why other than to say he thought they were arrogant. I think he might have also held a life long grudge against the 49ers beating them out for team of the decade during the 1980s. He told me repeatedly that beating the 49ers was more important to him than beating Dallas. If they lost to the Cowboys he'd be upset for a day or two and then move on to next week. If they lost to San Francisco he'd stew about it all week long. When the Redskins finally broke the streak in 1999 to win and win the NFC East, to my dad it was better than winning the super bowl.

This was the most disappointing season for the Skins during that era. It was arguably the best team they ever had. They beat the defending SB champion Bears at home in the playoffs, but then Bill Parcels and the Giants ruined it. They would have easily won the Super Bowl if they didn’t get stopped one game short, and they would have matched the 49ers with 4 rings. The NFC was completely dominant in the 80s. That was the peak of the NFL.
