@58:07.........Lawrence Taylor streaks parallel to the Line Of Scrimmage to track down Saints RB Rueben Mays and bring him down for a loss. That's the 'Headline'. Moreover, Taylor diagnosed the play ahead of the snap allowing him to move without both hesitation and deliberation at the snap. However.......replay this play again but this time focus on the opposite end of the Giants' defense and watch #58 Carl Banks and #54 Andy Headen. Banks holds the point of attack from his man trying to block him and doesn't yield an inch stringing the play towards the sideline. Headen slams into the area to prevent the Saints' blockers from turning the corner forcing Mayes to search for an opening and stringing out the play further. Not one Saints' blocker managed to push a Giant defender downfield off the Line Of Scrimmage before Taylor took Mayes down in the offensive backfield. Great example of championship football. It's not about which player is the fastest or the strongest.....it's about which team has players that both play and fight TOGETHER.

Sorry folks, I know Belichick gets all the pub, but he couldn't hold Parcells's jock as far as I am concerned. Man, it's fun to watch these guys.

Mortimer Snerd haha. I don’t think so on that. Belichick has won 6 titles, I’m losing track here, lol. I’d calm him the GOAT. I’ll go even further and say that without belichick bill never won anything. I like parcels but let’s deal with the facts here
@byrongammonbyrongammon99375 жыл бұрын
@@RobertJohnson-mn3br ....Parcells was a motivator. Belichick is less personal and more of a tactician. Let's not forget that Belichick totally flamed out in Cleveland. Parcells has turned around four NFL franchises. Giants, Patriots, Jets, and Cowboys. They were magnificent together. Their best coaching job was in 1990. The executed a masterpiece by defeating the 49ers and the Bills on consecutive weeks. I don't care what anyone says.........I haven't seen better coaching than what Parcells did in the playoffs after the 1990 season.
@RobertJohnson-mn3br5 жыл бұрын
byrongammon byrongammon you make a good point on 1990 but ask yourself this question: who would you rather have, a coach who has won 6 championships in the 19 years he’s been with that organization or the other coach who has coached 4 teams winning only twice. I’d take Bill the sequel over Bill the original. Close though. You’re right, parcels is a legend
@byrongammonbyrongammon99375 жыл бұрын
@@RobertJohnson-mn3br .......can't argue with numbers. Now......I'll say this......one thing Parcells was sketchy on was personnel. He wanted to trade ILB Pepper Johnson to Atlanta before the 1990 NFL Draft so he could select LB Darion Conner. In 1990 Pepper Johnson was the best defender on the Giants that season. He also wanted to draft DE Cedric Jones when he was with the Patriots instead of WR Terry Glenn. But Jones turned out to be a bust. Belichick has also made his share of errors. Letting Richard Seymour walk was a very bad move. Letting Deion Branch walk was a mistake. That cost them 2 opportunities at Super Bowls. New England went 10 years between championships. Parcells knew his stuff.....he knew how to bring a talented team of coaches together. Belichick is DIFFERENT. Belichick is a ridiculous micromanager. Think about Parcell's coaching tree vs Belichick's coaching tree. Not many of Belichick's assistants have had successful HC stints. Parcell's coaching tree is ridiculous.....mostly because of Belichick's success but you have to include Tom Coughlin's Super Bowl Championships as well.
@byrongammonbyrongammon99375 жыл бұрын
Robert Johnson ......one other thing.....When Parcells was a college coach.....he was friends with Steve Belichick, Bill’s father. When Bill Belichick was given the duty of defensive coordinator Parcells didn’t change Belichick’s title in order to protect him from the scrutiny of the New York media. Parcells deserves credit for Belichick’s rise. He recognized the man’s ability and Steve Belichick was grateful that Parcells protected his son.
