@@robertmasina4610 If you mean it was 17 years between the Mets 2 World Series Championships you are correct. But it has now been 33 years since the Mets won their last World Series Championship back in 1986. If I was a Red Sox fan, I would have to go "all the way back" to 2018 since my last World Championship. It is always a matter of prospective; 33 years for a Mets fan, 12 years for a Phillies fan, 30 years for a Reds fan, or 72 years for an Indians fan. But if you want to talk about being a truly long "suffering" baseball fan, how about being a fan of the Padres, Mariners, Rangers, Rockies or Rays who have never won a World Series Championship.

The last NL team to win 108 games. Even the Big Red Machine never won more than that for Pete's sake. They definitely should have won AT LEAST 3 World Series, and probably 4 or 5 had they stayed clean. Oh well. We'll always have '86 at least.
@ANTHONY0808able4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely a dynasty that never was. It was a 5 year window from 84-88 really, when they were a GREAT team. In today's format a playoff team every one of those years. Won 90, 98, 108, 92 and 100 over the 5 years. Because of a very stubborn Cardinals team didn't win division in 85 or 87. But there's always this gem of a season to look back on. 116 total wins playoffs included.

I was so saddened by that loss. In 2015 I got to see David Wright hit his homer in Game 3 of the WS and I thought that group was going to finish the job for me but alas that never happened. The team from 2 years let me down even with deGrom, but this year’s team was special. The OMG 2024 New York Mets. Had we somehow beat the Dodgers I really do think we could have seen the Mets win a subway World Series. Very sad and it still stings that I will never know when we will have a team like this again with as much fun chemistry and silly gimmicks throughout the season.
