Nascars greatest era of racing for sure! Love the cars, the tracks, and the drivers. Always pulled for Awesome Bill, Tim Richmond, Rusty, and the Intimidator of course!

**POINTS STANDINGS and WINS before the 1987 ATLANTA 500 (4 of 29):** #3 Dale Earnhardt Sr (530pts with 2 wins, GM) #9 Bill Elliott (-20 with 1 win, Ford) #22 Bobby Allison (-113, GM) #90 Ken Schrader (-116, Ford) #11 Terry Labonte (-119, GM) #17 Darrell Waltrip (-129, GM) #75 Neil Bonnet (-131, GM) #15 Ricky Rudd (-138, Ford) Geoff Bodine (GM #25 in 13th) had his 1st clean race in 1987 in race 3 while the best rookie of 1986, Alan Kulwicki (Ford #7 in 14th), almost got his 1st top5 ever in the most recent race. Rusty Wallace (GM #27 in 15th) got his 2nd top5 in a row after a really bad Daytona 500. Meanwhile, Tim Richmond had to skip the start of the season for “pneumonia” (it was AIDS) Drivers listed are the season's current top8, last season's top8 plus the rookie of the year before and whatever race winner that doesn't fit any of those 2 descriptions. Yes, I’m using the unsponsored names of the races. In Atlanta's case, the earlier race is the Atlanta 500 while the later one is the Dixie 500.

Will you guys at some point be uploading qualifying sessions? I think that would be as awesome.

I was there thst day. Infield tween turns 3 & 4 .. Group of us went every March & November back then.. scaffolding 2 wide & 2 high!! Infield was AWESOME back then.. You could see the entire track at Atlanta. I was at race where Bill Elliott' right rear tire changer, Mike Rich, got killed when Ricky Rudds rear brakes locked up coming inti the pits.. Bill was leading race at the time & had just pulled into his pit.. Rudd was 5th.. Rudds car spun around and Rich was smashed between the cars.. He never knew what hit him.. Also at the race when Grant Adcox got killed in turn 1

In retrospect the talk on tim Richmond is sad. Would have lived with modern medicine.

They can’t even upload the old interlaced content to 720p60 so anything else ain’t happening

@@bobbbobb4663 some of the videos on here are in 60 FPS. On NASCAR's KZbin channel, they have classic races on there in 60 FPS as well.

When did they use skew on the set up. Which is turning the body a little left on the frame. I think.

Hey, not sure if you guys take upload requests, but it would be totally awesome if y'all uploaded the 2005 Coca-Cola 600. Cant find the full race in HQ on KZbin. It's my all time favourite JJ win (which absolutely pains me to say as a Labonte fan 😭)

earnhardt was so dominant this race. if his battery hadn't given up at the end he would've lapped the entire field.

Back in those days every race in Atlanta was called "The Atlanta 500" by the commentators...even though it was Motorcraft 500 in the spring and Atlanta Journal 500 in the fall.

Wish I could watch this but my hatred for Sam Posey is so strong I just can't do it. Need Bobby Unser to counter act Sam's snobery and keep him in check like the Indy broadcasts back in the day.
