Those were nice cars, affordable luxury on its time and quite fast. I had one like this one and it was very comfortable, the speedometer might say 85mph top speed, but if you floor it you can tell you are doing at least 100mph, the needle just bouncing at the bottom way past the 85. During that era, American cars still had some quality in them. Sadly, American cars are neither as reliable or as luxurious as they used to be. For those who might say that back then american cars weren't reliable, at least they were easier to work on, and parts were cheaper.

They had these as Executive Loaner Cars along with black Lincoln Continentals when I worked at Universal Studios in the 80s and I longed to drive one.. even though they basicly were retooled and tarted up Dodge Aspens.. they were beautiful. I can say I've driven a heck of a lot of cars.. except one of these to this day..

What's up with the rocker panel molding?Did somebody paint it body color or is it gone?Should be aluminum chrome trim.And it should be replaced as I'm sure you were asking a pretty penny for this car with it being at a dealership and all.....Just go to the Mopar Nationals and get a 5th Ave much cheaper than a stealership.

@thoseoldphonos57223 жыл бұрын
That poor, poor 318. The 318 in that car was designed in an era where smog control didn't exist. This engine, just like the rest were literally choked out of existence, and you can tell just by listening. In fact the slant six, was bogged down so much, they had to get rid of it, bc it became so badly underpowered due to gov. regulations. The big V8s were choked to the point where it killed the muscle car era, and a 440 struggled to move a camper. I should know, my pap had one, and it only went 65, give or take, and it was a 77'.
@terrance759 ай бұрын
The 88-89 could go about 95-100mph. 11 seconds 0-60. The car was actually the lightest full sized luxury sedan at the time in the US. It was only 3600 pounds.
