@@brianmcdrummer so mine wasn’t there. Ended up being a little one in the engine bay. I just followed the gas lines and found it. The clamps were the toughest part.

There has never been pressure in the fuel lines. It will leak fuel when you disconnect it but that's all. Ya it's an automatic. Sometimes the engine revs up kind of high when I start it but if I wait for it to calm down then it doesn't jerk forward as much when I put it in gear. I've been told that's normal but I'm not sure if I buy that.

Another thing is my check engine light has been on for years but no one can seem to find any codes to show where the problem is. It's frustrating but I can't keep spending money on diagnostic tests.

It went out once I replaced my temperature gauge. I'm wondering if the computer sensed that the gauge was faulty.

Does your Dakota jerk forward when you put it into drive? I'm assuming that its an auto. Same with reverse.

If it’s like my dodge yes you’ll have to drop the fuel tank. Emptying it first will make it easier.

what end do the out end hookup to gas tank r carburetor

After the fuel filter is attached to the truck the top hose goes to the fuel tank and bottom hose goes to the carburetor. :)

Haha! I still have the truck but it's sitting for now. I'm hoping to fix it up one day with a completely different motor and interior. :)
